Goalie is happy to return favour as he hosts couple who put roof over his head during junior days DAVE STUBBS
It’s not what she expected to see Tuesday night of Carey Price, her unofficially adopted son: yanked from the Canadiens’ net and skating to the bench after surrendering three goals on 11 New York Ranger shots.
But Jill Williams’s eyes are moist for another reason.
“I got a little bit teary-eyed watching Carey stand there during the national anthems,” she said yesterday. “And it was wonderful to see his maturity when he was pulled, the way he was right in there with his team.”
That would include Price tossing his Canadiens cap on the ice to celebrate teammate Michael Ryder’s shortlived hat trick. “I never did get my hat back,” the 20-year-old goaltender complained mildly. “I think it’s in a wheelbarrow somewhere.”............

He seems like a good kid. I shook his hand a couple of months ago at a club (Opera). I was a little drunk and he was talking to a pretty cute girl so I kind of interrupted him but he was courteous. Told him I wanted to wish him luck in the city and shake the mans hand.
