You know, as soon as I saw koistinen in the lineup last night I figured they were showcasing him for a possible trade.

definetly, Zanon is one of our best. You dont make him a healthy scratch for no reason.

Zanon is one of our most consistent players and is a fine #5 or #6 defenseman. He would be an excellent #7 defenseman. He's a shot blocking machine and pretty decent positionally (although he does tend to get too far out of position in order to block the shot). He's also very tough and gives a lot of effort. All teams need players like that in order to succeed.

He is not one of our best.

Disagree on Zanon, he's constantly going down to block a shot or pass even when it makes more sense to play the body.

He's also caught out of position alot.

I guess everyone has their opinion.

It doesnt matter one way or the other though, the City paper reports that Trotz only sat him so that he could try to get the Power Play going by getting Koistinen in the lineup to play the point.

I get the feeling nothing is in the works. Most of our big trades occured at least a week before the deadline. Sullivan, Forsberg, and Silliger all were before the trade deadline

i get that feeling sometimes too, but something will happen. the standings are so close this year that GMs are waiting til the last possible moment to make trades.

I'm actually hoping for nothing myself I'm Starting to like this team as is. Make a run at Foresberg but don't trade away anyone.

what about Miro Satan?

he's having a down year, but I think everyone on the Island is.

He's got size, skills, and he's a winger.

and he's not one of the "prize" assets.

I still remember back about 10 years ago the editors at The Hartford Courant were obviously not thinking when they put the headline "Satan Wins It" across the top of the sports section in bold letters.

Miroslav Satan had scored an overtime goal the previous night to beat the Whalers.

I'd much rather take a chance on a scrambled eggs Bergeron then Kessel & a 1st ... but I guess Kessel & a 1st would do

I'd take Kessel and a 1st for Suter in a heartbeat...

Koistinen can definitely play everyday for us, he works better with Zidlicky, and he's better on the power play. Kessel should be a good second line player for years to come. Only issue for me is how long Kessel's contract is and could we/would we resign him?

As much as I like Suter (and I think he is turning into a very good defenseman), I would do this deal. It would be one we would have to make as a franchise.

His name's been mentioned before, but now Eklund has us after Jokinen.
