Not sure. Umberger, Downie, trade for a two-way guy like Stoll?

Gormley is going to be on the Fan590 after the break to discuss "what's wrong with the Flyers", I'll paraphrase anything important.

I like Stoll, just not sure what we have to give up..

Sounds good, I am curious as to what he says, anything relevant anyway

I'll put it in the recent "blame it on the coach" thread, seems the most relevant.

you will when our offense looks like mush because it has no structure to the lines.

Because 3rd line centers are so hard to find

If we get Kaberle for Carter and a 1st, that will be Homer's best move yet

Our offense has looked like that all season. Why would this trade have any bearing on that?

And Kaberle isn't a star? Top notch defenders signed to insanely affordable contracts are far more difficult to come by than top scorers. Carter's going to command more money than we can afford if he turns into a player of Kaberle's caliber.

Who cares if he does, we will be getting a ridiculous cheap , young, all-star Dman for him . I think that there is no way TO does the trade anyway if it is Carter and a 1st.

Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't be opposed to such a deal because Kaberle fills a huge need...but I know there will be a day where Carter will blossom into a star while we are stuck with an aging and declining Briere and we'll be wishing how we had Carter instead of Briere. I also think TO would win the deal in the long run.

Our offense has been extremely dangerous whenever they get the puck to the offensive zone... we're frighteningly effective at getting goals off of very few opportunities.

The problem isn't our "offense." The problem is the inability to transfer from the defensive zone to the offensive zone smoothly. As a counter-attack and PP team they're one of the more -- if not the most -- dangerous teams in the league.

What does Briere have to do with Carter and Kaberle? We're stuck with Briere no matter what. It's not like you can re-sign Carter and just waive Briere or something.

I was listening to sirius satellite radio today and they said there was a deal Carter for Kaberle straight up and Kaberle said no. They went on to say they couldn't figure out why Kaberle wouldn't agree considering the Flyers have alot more promising future than the Leafs.

That's not my point. Carter gives us the option to stick Briere on the wing when he is on the decline and we will still be strong down the middle with Carter and Richards. If we trade Carter we will have Richards and the black hole of suck down the middle.

It's not like it's impossible to draft, trade for or sign another centre for the rest of existence...

I have no idea where you're trying to go. I said "Who cares?" to the question about our third line center spot and you're now talking about the team's inability to move the puck up the ice, which Kaberle would improve drastically. Kaberle would get us a person very apt at getting the puck to where our offense does its work the best.

Of course it isn't, but where are we going to get a young center with star potential that will be a bargain?

Like I said, I am not completely opposed to the deal, but it would weaken the center position. It makes more sense to deal some of our wingers instead since that is where our depth it the strongest.

His name is David Toews, and he'll be well within reaching distance this year.

If Carter for Kaberle is roughly acceptable to you guys, how would you feel about Carter for Bieksa?

(This one has probably been covered before, I just cannot remember the answer)

I wouldn't feel too good about it.

I'd do Umberger for Bieksa, but that's about it.
