Did anyone else hear on the broadcast last night that the Flyers were going to have a little ceremony for him before the game? Jim Jackson I think mentioned it.

They'll probably show a video and then he'll get a watch or something for scoring his 500th goal.

No one has ever scored their 500th goal with the Flyers, so this is what we get instead, although this is certainly the classy thing to do.

Well done.

JR was my favorite non-Flyer when I first started following hockey. I loved everything about him both on and off the ice. I was never, ever so excited/happy that a player was signed by the Flyers as I was when we signed JR. And I was positively devastated when we trade him, but as he himself said, "..I'd trade me for Forsberg too..." Freakin' cap, could've had them both.

Someone in the league needs to revive the pants. Hey, maybe that's what our team needs to break out of the slump! Bring back the pants!!!!

I would deff love to see the pants back, but not some new style pants, when the flyers change jerseys again, they should just go absolute vintage and have that be their actual jerseys. it would be so cool, even for a year.

Roenick was one of my favorite flyers ever!! My two favorite Roenick moments are either when he bought the water ice in the penalty box or when he kissed recchi on the cheek on the kiss cam in toronto.

lol there was a game where he was in the penalty box and during a tv timeout he called over one of the vendors and took a red icee and started eating it in the box. I can't find anything on it on youtube though.

He'll be traded to us for a 3rd rounder in a tie game after regulation tomorrow night and score the GWG in OT.

the goal to knock the Leafs out of the '04 playoffs isn't just my favourite JR moment, it's my favourite Flyer moment since I've been a Flyers fan.

my first experience with JR was also pretty memorable; my Dad had picked up tickets to see the Blackhawks in Toronto while we were there for a weekend. JR broke a third period tie with a spin-o-rama between two Leafs defensemen. I wasn't really cheering for either team, but I got out of my seat and jumped up and down. I got a bunch of dirty looks, but from that day on I was a JR fan. I was so happy when he signed here and was sad to see him go.

For those of you in attendance, make JR remember what it meant to the fans that he donned the orange and black!!!!!!!!!!

The Flyers will hold a short, pre-game ceremony tonight to present Sharks forward and former Flyer Jeremy Roenick a Tiffany crystal celebrating Roenick’s 500th goal in the NHL.
