Stars @ Preds 2-23-08 7 PM CST

@

Ok its not fancy but it will have to do lol

Anyways I saw Mike Smith will be in net for the Stars. I think we should go with Mason, he has been just slightly better lately, but if Ellis goes I will not object lol

I really think this is a must win. We have a long, hard road trip after this... ands theres a logjam in the standings. But it will be hard Dallas is hot, they may take over #1 if Detroit keeps slipping.

GO PREDS!

Dallas played last night (I have a decent feeling, not terrible) ... I think this game goes to OT ... and IF Ott goes after our star players ... Hordichuk/Tootoo better go after Modano/Ribiero

I'd like to see Smith vs. Ellis....the backup we kept vs. the one we gave away!

Should be a good game.

For those of you sick of Eklund, sorry he is going to be on the FSN Broadcast with Pete and Terry.

Rads out with the flu, that hurts.

Does anyone know what in the world Erat was thinking when he was caught flat footed on that Dallas goal?

and we dont deserve to either.

the depressing thing is that we always seem to put on this kind of performance in front of a sold out crowd.

Out of gas tonight. Blew the remaining fumes in the 1st and then blew up. Might have been nice to see Klien as our 7th dman/forward.

I agree it seems to happen on Saturday night in front of a sold out crowd both this year and last, which is unfortunate.

The Predators started off strong and then trailed off. I have a feeling that is how this part of the year is going to go too.

Radulov was out and our forwards look almost lost out there. Of course, having only 10 forwards doesn't help.

I'll rip my eyes out if I ever have to watch Smithson, Nichol, and Fiddler get that much ice time again.

Legwand and Erat looked terrible, especially Erat. Erat couldn't even hold a pass tonight, much less do anything productive.

what a ****in' awful game ... NO REASON that we should have lost that game by the beginning of the 3rd period ... the Steers played last night AND had to travel ... I don't get our team sometimes ... lets at least hope we passed on the flu

6 goals, and really none of them were the goalies fault. Can't have that.

Also can't blow a near 2 minute 5 on 3 that lacked one true scoring chance.

We've been through the routine with Dallas when they get up--they start to trap\suffocate the neutral zone, and we have no answer for it. The entire night after we fell behind consisted of dumping the puck in, Smith handling it out to the defense, and transitioning back to our end...where we'd gain it back and repeat the process.

I was checking out the standings and after tonight we will be in 8th place in the conference. We will be tied with Calgary,Van And SJ with 72 points and they will all have at least two games in hand on us. Then you have the Av's who if they win there games in hand they will be tied with us. Then Phoenix who would be 1 point behind us. Needless to say if we want to make the playoffs this year the team is gonna have to dig down deep and win some road games and avoid pitiful efforts at home like tonight. NO EXCUSES!!

The Stars bent the boys over tonight, and Mikey didn't offer to give a reach around.

Well I was afraid of this. What happened to our defensive zone coverage it has been awful here lately. We have a long hard road trip coming up, we may be on the outside looking in if we don't watch it. We're still up by 4 but that could evaporate quickly the way we are playing

I hope Poile can make a move, we need at least one forward. You'd think with all our d-man we could make something happen. Or I guess we can hope Klein turns into a Walker I guess lol

I was disappointed that there was no in game adjustment to this, did anyone even try dumping into the corner where he couldnt play it?

Sure they tried it. But the puck either came out in front of the goal line or it rimmed around and out of the no-play zone and Smith was still able to get to it. And we consistently got beat to the puck. It's a trademark of this team, when the puck gets dumped in (or if it's just along the wall) we seem to be winning the race for it only to pull up and allow the other team's player to get to it first and then try to wrestle the puck away from him.

I don't know how much of a difference it would have made, but this game showed just how important Radulov is to our team and why we would not even look at a trade involving him.

Sloppy play all night. Better tighten up in our own end or it will be a long March.

I can't believe in our last Saturday night game of the year they went out like a led balloon.
