I believe any deal by the Flames to get Olli Jokinen would be a package of some combination of ALex Tanguay, Dustin Boyd, Mikael Backlund, Leland Irving and our 2008 1st rounder.
I personally would trade Tanguay, Boyd and the 2008 1st rounder for Jokinen but is that enough or overpayment?
Acquiring Jokinen would be beneficial for two main reasons - make a Cup run this year and not worrying about signing Langkow for 5million plus a season for probably 5 years as Jokinen would be the Flames new #1 center.

Waaaay too much, if thats the price, I am glad he is not a Flame.
Take out our 1st and Backlund and add Kris Chucko.

I stressed the important parts. He never suggested to trade all of them for Jokinen.

Huge overpayment. Take out Boyd or the 1st and it's reasonable.
Maybe I'm just not a Jokinen fan, but I don't think he is that big of an upgrade over Tanguay where we should trade a guy like Boyd or Backlund and a first. People complain over our lack of prospect depth, yet they have no problem including our top two prospects in the deal.
Tanguay, Boyd/Backlund and our first for Jokinen is a big no thanks for me.
I beleive that Mr. Sutter sees this as an excellent oppotunity to solidify his #1 center position. Jokinen, Richards, Marleau all seem to be available for the right price. All of these guys are capable #1 centers, and it would surprise me if Sutter didn't at least try and go after these guys. Should be interesting.
I would love to see Jokinen wearing the flaming C but not at that price(Tanguay,Boyd,Irving,Backlund and a first).I know Jokinen's value is pretty high but that would gut our prospect depth.
I could see Tanguay and a 1st and maybe a mid level prospect but i can't see any of our top prospects going in the deal.We don't have many bluechippers so i would be against trading the ones we do have.
If we get Jokinen... I will jump for joy. I think his thirst for playoff time, scoring and leadership would bring loads to this team. Please Sutter make this happen!!!!!!!!!!!
To get Jokinen it would have to be something like Tanguay, Boyd, 1st and I don't think it's worth it at all. I'm a big Jokinen fan and would love to see him here, but I think his stats are quite flawed since he plays in the east and the majority of his games are against the SE division. We saw what Iggy, Juice and Langkow could do vs. just a few games against them. I think in the west he'd be a consistent 80+ point player, a slight downgrade from his usual 90 points per season. I'd definately be willing to give up Tanguay + picks and prospects for Jokinen, it's just that FLA probably wants a massive overpayment including Boyd/Backlund and our first, which we can't do right now.
