I think you're not well informed. Price's team in the Juniors only qualified for playoffs twice and they really played badly when he was over there.

The Tri-City Americans finished their season at 9th, 6th and 7th position in the 3 years he played over there. But the thing you have to notice is that Price's save percentage went up all 3 years even tho he was playing for a very weak team.

He is definitely NOT "a product of having all the best teams ahead of him since he was 2." and these numbers prove it.

Tri-City Americans - WHL

02-03 - Finished 9th

03-04 - Finished 6th

04-05 - Finished 7th

Sv%

02-03 - .857

02-03 - .915

02-03 - .920

On top of the Tri City numbers are the Hamilton numbers from last years Calder Cup playoffs...

The bulldogs were badly outshot throughout those playoffs, but Price stood on his head.

Since Carbo is using the scheme that the winning goalie plays the next game, I think it's Halak's turn!!!!!!!

Seriously, we could have the 3 goalies on the roster and send lappy down. Maybe Halak is the Patrick Roy '86 this year - anyone ever thought about that?

...

AND on top of that if you watched the world juniors, the Canadians were being out played in a FEW games, including the finals, and Price kept them in there. So ya, you clearly don't know what you're talking about.

The Dogs played a great team game though, really forced guys to the outside and let them shoot from distance and at bad angles. The D also did a good job covering the front of the net most of the time, clearing away many loose pucks. I'm not taking anything away from Price's play though, just trying to give some context.

So do we want any goalie to have confidence in playing?

This thread is another example of why people should not read HF after a loss.

I personally cannot believe they havnt gave halak a better chance to do some time this year.
H e was awsome last year and should be given some rewards for the way he played.
I love huet and price, but I believe price was brought up too early,
Its allright to skip a grade in school,But to skip 3 grades your gonna miss something for sure!!

They get a UFA, a goalie which they don't need, and a 1st pick from a team who will probably finish high in the standings. This deal makes perfect sense

Huet and Price have both been a little off lately. I'd give Halak a couple of games.

Gotta go with Huet now.
Live or die with your number 1.

I think Cristo will rebound....well I hope so anyway.

EXACTLY. Both Huet and Price have been shaky, and one could even argue that their poor goaltending have cost us the last 2 games (especially Huet vs Pens). Tonight we were blanked so one could say it doesn't matter, but I say it matters because had Price stopped those two goals, we could have scored first and then CLB wouldn't have started their shutdown game.

When things don't work it's common practice to bring up new blood, especially when you've been shuffling the same cards over and over. Halak is dominating the AHL like last year, and he responded very when he was called up. He showed he could handle the pressure and he almost rode us in the playoff.

I think it's time for Halak to see some action and prove what he's worth, but I don't think the organisation sees it that way, unfortunately.

Let's be patient with Halak, even if he's doing really good right now let's not forget this guy never had a huge workload. He need that playoff drive with the Bulldogs.

Halak has absolutely NO future in Montreal and will be traded real soon, he knows it, the Habs knows it, everybody knows this. Having said that, there's no way we are going to see this guy in this year's playoffs.
In fact i think Huet is a lock for the playoffs because he's the one with the experience and Carbo likes that. He would have to be terrible for Price to get one start. (Kinda like his performance against the canes 2 years ago)

Price very weak again tonight, same as last game he played. Huet is playing the same way
Trade huet before tuesday( while we still can get something for him), bring up halak and give him a few starts, let Price warm the bench for a few games.

I still think halak will be the best of the three.
Had Halak up here once before this season. Carbo wouldn't play him...played Huet until he wore thin...Huet hasn't never seen that much hockey before in one season. Carbo could have ****ed it up...don't know for sure.
