Interesting games last night

Last nights games were interesting. It was nice to see Philly beat Toronto. The other games were rather shocking. In the Detroit/Calgary game, I was suprised that when Detroit scored the first goal it was disallowed becase one of the Detroit players "tapped" Kipirsoff. I like Calgary, don't get me wrong, but was suprised with the call. Too bad we couldn't get one of those calls.
In the Avalanche Sharks game it was all Sharks. Aebisher looked shaky to say the least and Colorado's defense seemed to always have their backs to the Sharks. Plus the melee's at the end made it seem like a regular season game.
Tonight's match up between Montreal and Tampa Bay should be a good one! Let's go tampa

By the looks of things, Philly is just way too much for the Leafs. The only goal Toronto got was fluke and the Flyers did a great job of getting traffic in front of Belfour. Could be a short series.

Marleu is a beast!!!

Watching Sharks is so much fun!

Kiprusoff absolutely stole the game for the Flames. WTG.

And the Leafs aren't in the same league as the Flyers. How old can they be? The Flyers are faster, stronger and younger. Belfour will need to do the same miracles that he did against Ott for the Leafs to make another upset.

I'm rooting for Calgary and was very happy about their win last night. They are a good bunch of hard-working guys and with Iginla and Kyprussof, they can make an upset against the Wings. Sutter have them playing real hard.

SJ were all over the Avs. Aebisher had an off-night and that killed any Avs hope. That will be a very fun series to watch.

Tonight TB-Mtl.... Go TB!!!

Belfour wasn't sharp yesterday too.

I don't think Leafs and Flyers are in the different leagues.

1) Leafs were definitely tired after emotional game vs Sens while Flyers were well rested.
2) Leafs are still missing key players in Sundin and Nolan

I think we'll see closer games and I don't think we can predict who'll win. Leafs are resillient bunch.

I also noticed interesting trend:

Leafs usually beat Sens
Sens usually beat Flyers
Flyers usually beat Leafs.

Funny?

Belfour didn't play a bad game at all. Got beat on a rebound and two deflections.

Flyers were missing our two best defenseman: Dejsardins & Johnsson.

The trend is very accurate. The playoffs often come down to match-ups.

Although the Leafs are a better team than the Habs, the Bruins match-up better against the Leafs IMO. The Bruins slow defense gets victimized by the smaller quicker Habs.

I've never seen so many lose rebounds as there was infront of Esche last night. So many times the puck was just sitting there. Until the leafs can get those lose pucks, they don't have much of a chance. But you're right, the Leafs are resillient.

On a side note, poor sami kapanen. The leafs are obviously taking advantage of him on defence. Roberts made him airbourn just checking him into the boards...

Marleau lighting it up will only add fuel to the Thornton detractors fire.....

I know Flyers were missing D. Kapanen played very good D though.

Montreal isn't that small anymore, specially back on D. And they definitely played some physical hockey. We all knew that Thornton was playing hurt but when 2/3 of your main scoring line (Sammy - Nylander - Bergeron) gets concussion (Sammy/Nylander) it's twice tougher.

Roberts nailed him twice, but Kapanen played 21 minutes was (+1) and had an assist. A very very credible job by a player that had only played defense in one full game and parts of two others.

Johnsson should be back by game 3 at the latest, so at most one more game for Kapanen on defense.

I am somewhat rooting for the Flyers on the East so good luck!

Too bad we couldn't have a series...but with our key injuries it would be difficult anyway.
