when will boyes be in the line up i hope he'll be a stand out at camp and make the bruins :
Depending on who we get to replace our UFA's (or re-sign them), I think that Boyes could make the roster next year. I have seen him play a few times, and it seems as if he has a boatload of talent, however, Id like it if he would bulk up a bit more. He seemed a bit skinny, and is only listed as 6'0, 168LBS. I hope he can add a solid 10-20 lbs of muscle this offseason (as Raycroft did this past year I believe), and maybe crack the lineup.

I hope they resign Nylander. It leaves Boyes to be #3 or #4 center.
Can he be a checking center?
I definetly think that he can be, only I think that he has much more talent than that. From what I have seem of him, he is more of a two-way center, as he is strong on both ends of the ice. He is much better on the offensive end, however he can definetly hold his own on defense.
Id compare him to a Brian Rolston, only with more offensive upside.
Somebody said Brad was slow skater... Is this true?
I didnt think that he was overly slow. He didnt seem to get winded at the end of shifts or anything. The only real knock on the guy is that he is skinny. He needs to bulk up, thats all IMO
Boyes will defintely play for the big guys next season. The Bruins are going to be losing a lot of players, and Boyes is one of their very few good forward prospects.

boyes and bergeron are similar from what i understand- skating isn't their best asset, but i wouldn't call them slow at all. i believe boyes is quick, and he's very smart, which allows him to be in the right place, at the right time. i think boyes should spend the summer in boston, work with whitesides, and come to camp ready to grab a job.

Jeez... I can't believe our team someday will consist of smart people!
This is what I really wanted for last couple of the years.
Let's see Sammy, Nylander, Bergeron, Axelsson, Gonchar, Slegr, Boynton, and Boyes. It's fun to watch games played by the smart people.
I seriously hope Joe matures and gets smarter too.
Depending on all the signings this summer Boyes SHOULD make the team. Like someone said he should bulk up a bit.
He's got wonderful puck handleing ability as well as able to give a good hit every once in awhile (you know one of those guys who you brush off thinking they wont hurt you or give you a hard hit, aka Bergeron, yah, hes like that). Backchecks well. I saw almost nothing wrong with him. He's great at the faceoff circle as well.
What about Jurcina?
we could use a D (as i see many of our current leaving..)
Jurcina will be on this team next year. I think we will see many new Dmen. Hopefully Girard can make a comeback, and I think that Jurcina will be up. OD< McGillis, Moran, and Slegr may all be gone. I hope they resign Slegr however

Jurcina is good! He's young so if he doesnt make the club this coming year he should be definitely something in a few. He made great strides this year. Big powerful kid, awesome slap shot from the point. Even saw him on a semi-breakaway in Bridgeport in OT, right over the glove hand. He should make the big club.
But what about Kutlak?? I dont think he had a very good year in Prov. He didnt impress me at all, jumped up on the play way too much which ended in a 2-on-1 or 3-on-1 for his D-partner.
Hopefully he'll do what Bergeron did and hire a powerskating instructor to improve his speed. Also he could benefit from some time in the weight room.
Sounds like a plan
My apologies for not knowing more about our prospects (the reg. bruins keep me plenty busy). But what is the story on Alberts and Stuart? they are in college right, do we know for how much longer? and would they be Providence or Boston bound after?
I'm just trying to think of ways to fill up holes with young 'cheap' talents, so we have $$ left to secure Gonchar/Nyles and get an excellent winger for Joe
Grapes, Stuart and Alberts are at Colorado and BC respectively.
Based on what I have heard, Stuart will likely stay at CC next year, while I believe Alberts is all done at BC. Also based on what I've heard, Alberts will need some AHL time. Stuart could very well need some too, but he's the more likely of the 2 to jump right to the parent club.
Alberts is entering his final season at BC and Stuart is entering his Jr season at Colorado College. However, if there is a lockout for this season then Alberts can jump in next season. Any D we sign this offseason will be for the short term, not long term.
Dont forget about Lars Jonsson coming over. Perhaps Tuukka Makela.
