It's amazing the range of values being suggested for Suter.

Hell, I wish Forsberg would sign with you guys and that managent brings in another rental. The guys on the team deserves that!

I've now seen\heard our name mentioned as being interested in both Jason Williams and Yanic Perreault from Chicago.

My feelings about "No Panic Yanic" are well-documented...and...why acquire a guy we ended up healthy-scratching in the playoffs, anyway?

Williams could be a low-cost solution to our shallow wing pool, though.

Bruce Garrioch has us listed as one of the teams interested in Jokinen, though I'm not getting my hopes up.

I continue to think that Florida would love to get the 1st round pick back so they can tank with meaning if OJ is being traded. What about Legwand and the 1st for Jokinen. It's a steep price but he is a helluva a player. Hard to make sense of a trade for OJ if we still have Leggy and Arnott.

What image does that send through our organization by trading a long time player who just signed a long term deal to remain in the organization, coming at a time when everyone was doubtful that the new owners would put any money into the team?

Ask me who I'd rather have and I'd easily say Jokinen, but I can't see that trade being made. I can't see the organization trading Legwand after using him as a sign that the team is going to keep its players after a terrible off season.

We can justify it because of Legwand's DUI. This kind of behavoir won't be tolerated

I agrree, it's not the best PR move, but it happens. That's what no-trade clauses are for. You have a chance to upgrade your team, you do it, IMO.

I would rather include Suter than Florida 1st.

To Florida: Legwand, Suter
To Nashville: Jokienen, Cullimore, 2nd 2009

To Nashville: Marek Svatos
To Colorado: Marek Zidlicky, 2nd rd pick

I like Svatos. He's small and somewhat one-dimensional, but the guy can score.

Dumont-Arnott-Radulov
Erat-Jokien-Svatos

Have to get some last minute propsoals before the deadline.

From ESPN Insider:
PHOENIX, Az: According to a source close to the Phoenix Coyotes, the team is working on a deal that would send Radim Vrbata to the Nashville Predators for defenseman Marek Zidlicky and center Jared Smithson. More deatails as they become available.
Not sure why the Yotes would be interested in Zidlicky.

I couldn't see us trading him honestly. He's having a pretty good year offensively while improving in the defensive end. Not to mention the NTC...

So, Colorado, 4 points behind us with a game in hand, signed Forsberg.

I'm not sure if Forsberg's signing makes him available, but do we go after Brunette?

That deal had better not go through. Vrbata is a nice player and all, but he's a UFA to be and Zidlicky is having a terrific year...maybe his best as a Pred.

Forsberg is a great signing for the Avs; little risk, huge reward. They get a top line player while not giving up prospects and picks.

Its too bad he didn't come back here, his play with Radulov was amazing last year.

I have to call this rumor bunk. It was posted without any kind of legit link, and "originated" over on the Coyotes board from one of our own newer posters.

There is mention of Vrbata, but I don't pay ESPN money, so I can't see what the details of the rumor are. If anyone here pays ESPN money, perhaps you can shed some light on whether or not Zidlicky is also mentioned in the Vrbata link.

I was just checking some of the other teams trade threads and I noticed that Brunette was mentioned here. Do you think a trade between the Avs and your Preds might work? Give us a deal.

I can't imagine reuniting Trotz and Brunette. His lack of speed would also not be a good fit for our second line IMO. I'll give you Jered Smithson and the rights to Jonas Andresson.
