R.I.P. Pat Tillman

Pat Tillman, former Arizona Cardinals (NFL) defensive back who turned down a 3 year-4 million contract last year to join his platoon overseas in the army was killed earlier today in Afganistan.

He was definetly 1 in a 1,000,000. Turning down fame, and fortune to serve his country. RIP my friend.

Here is the ESPN Story...

OT-AMERICAN HERO in the TRUEST SENSE...

Pat Tillman was killed in action in Afghanistan. ESPN story...

Something for the Board Lords and their Puck Pal Players to keep in mind when they screw up the sport next year. Some things transcend the dollars and sense....

have to say Dale was talking on WEEI and all of a sudden he stops and pauses and says, oh, no, this is bad and after a second or two announced that Tillman was killed. I was shocked. He soonthereafter had Ted Johnson on- maybe minutes after he told the story- and mentioned it to Johnson who had know idea; Ted sounded like he wanted to cry on the spot when he heard the news. He certainly sounds like an incredibly talented and driven human being reading on his accademic, professional, and what he did for his country. I can only dream. God Bless to his wife, parents, brother and other family members and to everyone else over there and hopefully they will all be home safely soon.

May he rest in peace.

* Wally has already closed a thread dedicated to Tillman earlier today. He gave us a link where we may discuss further. I'm in a rush, but it shouldn't be too hard to find. Sad story nonetheless
