well I guess this is actually good for the sport. Rentals kind of sucks if you are in a division where a rental comes over but it's not on your team.

The fact that so many teams are still trying to make the play-offs make trades risky..

I still wouldn't mind getting Hossa for a prospect and pick...

I'm begining to wonder if Waddell and Sutter weren't greeted with a lot of laughter/profanity and then a dial tone when they listed the asking price for their "coveted" assets.

I dunno, people always end up overpaying at the deadline.. see the Thrashers last yr. If they really had people biting on their baits they would have waited til tomorrow to give up on a trade.

Here is a thought, what if all along we haven't been scouting Tanguay but Huselius and thats the trade thats Ryder + a pick.

Huselius is a UFA this offseason.

I don't think so. He basically said he's going UFA if he doesn't get a huge longterm contract. And he already knows where he wants to play, so you can't trade him elsewhere. He wants to come to a Canadian team or a team where the fanbase cares.

I'd say that makes his value low, but Waddell HAS to get something for him or Atlanta is screwed.
