What happens next?:

Since the fire sale is on in TB...what do you expect for Western Conference teams by the end of the trade deadline tomorrow?

My call:

Detroit: nothing major

Dallas: injured players returning...nothing major

Anaheim: Already have Selanne back

San Jose:nothing major

Richards to Vancouver

Jokkinen to Calgary

Minnesota: nothing

Nashville: nothing

Phoenix: hold

Colorado: got Foppa

St. Louis: not this year

Chicago: shopping Khabibulin without success

Oilers: nothing

LA: next year.

Now with that in mind, predict the order of finish in the west.

Predict the order of the west on your predictions? Or predict what we think will happen with teams?

I really think Dallas is going to come out of nowhere and shake things up tomorrow.
Burke has too much of an ego to not make a move.

I think he already did by pulling Nieds and Selanne out of his hat. Does he need anything else?

Selanne got 5 points last night.

He didn't do anything Epic last year at the deadline. Most likely won't this year, teams need to pickup just to catch up to his team. San Jose has to do something.

Burke will do something, those players just fell on his lap.
He'll make his appearance on TSN all red-faced and saying nothing is happening, then make a deal to get some ******* like Jason Blake.

if calgary picks up jokinen i will be sooo mad. We have better prospects and should be fighting for him like no tomorrow. Calgary will be scary good if they picked him up

If Calgary picks up Jokinen, and leans towards Huselius resigning over Daymond Langkow - a fine target to bring home to Edmonton in the off season.

Dallas is going bigger than Richards. I'm thinking Hossa or Jokinen.

The Eastern media ignores the fact that Western Conference teams exist or would think about trading. All the Montreal and Ottawa talk is going to be bunk when the Stars jack players tomorrow.

Look how shocked they all were that Forsberg would resign in Colorado. Was it really that amazing?
They have their little contacts around the eastern USA horseshoe of cities, and the GTA area. Beyond that they're clueless.

I've felt all week that it was going to be slower than usual. I think I predicted 10 trades tomorrow at one point.

I think it's all about the Pacific. Look for SJ to make a huge splash (I say Richards), DAL to pick up a serious rental (Hossa, which I thought was my awesome original idea..), and ANA to add some depth/grit. I see OTT picking up a goalie and I pray it's Roli, although I'd be less surprised by one of Kolzig, Halak, or Smith. Ditto for DET, although I think they're more satisfied with what they have than the Sens. They just flat out can't have another early exit due to goaltending though.

I would love to see us make this Schremp - Bourret swap with NYR that I keep hearing about, by the way. Unless I'm missing something, he was practically given away by ATL last year and NYR would be doing exactly the same thing in that deal, IMO.

With Moreau out, I doubt Lowe will make any trades involving a roster player, but I expect some minor moves. I'm sure he'll try to move Roloson, but he won't get any takers.

And since the pundits are never right about the big names, here goes my outlandish predictions.

1. Campbell to Anaheim for Bobby Ryan and Brendan Mikkelson.

2. Hossa to Boston for Phil Kessel and a first

3. Richards to Ottawa for Antoine Vermette, Brian Lee, +

4. Jokinen to Vancouver for Ryan Kesler and Alex Edler

5. Fedorov to Calgary for spare parts.

Look for Erik Christenson to come to Edmonton tomorrow. We have been linked to him for a while and hopefully we snatch him up. Tuomo Ruutu will also be dealt tomorrow.
