Jason Williams would not be a good pickup for us imo.

I would like to see us go after Federov of Peca but I very highly doubt CBJ would trade in Division with us. Especially considerng they still have an outside shot at the Playoffs

I'd rather take what we'd trade for them for a winger instead of a center.

The Avs are going down a dangerous path. This isnt 2002 and foote, forsberg arent the players they once were. Then there is the chance the players they are picking up dont gell quickly enough. Simliar to us and aour situation last year. Very high risk/ high reward situation. Gotta hand it to them at least they are taking a chance.

But they are loading up a pee-shooter. I just don't see this adding up to a much better team. Even with this, there's no guarantee they'll make the playoffs.

I talked to someone who was at the unmasked ball. Poile told him that he was "this close" with a small distance between his fingers, to getting a forward yesterday...but wouldn't say who. Pete Weber then quietly said, "it was Prospal"

The only player remaining that I would like to see Poile go after is Fedotenko

Here's my analysis on why it would not be a great move...He might be an ok replacement for Gelinas or Ortmeyer, but if he is the only deal we make, what a letdown. He's not really going to fix very much that's wrong with this team. Why trade assests for this guy when we have guys like peverly, pihlstrom, etc in milwaukee we could call up and would be just as good as jason williams. Not to mention, he's had several injuries over the last few years and he's undersized (5'11"). Just not a lot to be thrilled about IMO.

Honestly, though what were you expecting? The only guy i would have been thrilled to really grab that we had a legitamate shot at was prospal. We didnt get him, it happens. We need bodies at forward. While Williams def isnt a pick up to get excited about I'd rather have NHLers up with the big club than putting AHLers in the lineup. Poile at least needs to grab one decent forward. Williams or Fedotenko would do it for me.

I disagree that Pevs or Pihlstrom are ready to produce magically during the end of the season. That being said Id rather Poile do nothing if teams are tryign to rip us off.

Well, unless a deal is going to be announced after the deadline (can happen), we stood pat.

Dumont - Arnott - Radulov
Peverley - Legwand - Erat
Fiddler - Bonk - Nichol
Tootoo - Smithson - Hordichuk

Hamhuis - de Vries
Weber - Suter
Zidlicky - Koistinen / Zanon / Klein

Mason
Ellis

*Gelinas, Ortemeyer, Sullivan likely out for the year.

^--- or something like this

Its going to be an interested drive for the playoffs....

Forgot Bonkers.. thanks Dave

I guess not bad for a 7th rounder if this is true, but still nothing thrilling (although I'm not sure what I expected).

it is a little slow at loading, but it seems to be the first on the scene! Quicker to update trades than Eklund...
