You guys have put your hopes way too high...

What's the problem with it?

1st : At least wait for all the trades to be announced, because it makes little sense.
2nd : Chill out... This is a game for god's sake!

Gainey shouldn't have dealt Huet until he managed to sign Hossa or Jokinen or someone. Once players seen that we traded away our #1 goalie, they likely said that they don't want to get traded to Montreal.

This day is a huge disappointment. Gainey failed miserably. He said he wanted to add an impact player, but he ended up trading our #1 goalie instead and he never added any goal scorers, no faceoff men or any another defencemen to bolster our lineup down the stretch.

hey, remember when all you Gainey bashers wanted Gainey out because he didn't sign Briere ? would want Briere now ?

drink a glass of water, back away from the computer, and don't go insane over Hossa going somewhere else

Gainey didn't want to go all in with a K J, just like he didn't want to go all in with Briere
Thank you. Bob made an offer and Waddell went with another offer, better or worse. It was all or nothing for Bob, we get the one impact player or go with those that got us here this far. I do want to see an exclamation point on this affair on the ice tonight.

Dude, we traded Huet for a 2nd.

How can ANYONE defend that?

If he had a trade linedup, it should have been secured prior to dealing Huet. This is epic irresponsibility.

Dupuis is headed to Pitt along with a 1st coming back to Atlanta...that is expensive for a rental.

This is expected. As long as they keep having sellout crowds they don't care to make this team a winner. This organization has gone downhill ever since the Roy trade.

you are overrating Higgins and underrating Espo. The 2 firsts are a wash.

I don't care what people say. Gainey had to deliver and he didn't. Sure looks like an overpayment, still the greats Christensen with his 20 points and Armstrong with his 24 points and the supposed bust that Esposito will be, not that much of an overpayment to me.....And then imagine if Hossa signs but then probably meaning the end of Malkin at some point getting some great prospects in return, it will be a steal for Pittsburgh at some point....

Where are the fire Gainey threads?
Gainey obviously didn't want to make a stupid trade.

So, I am NOT disappointed that the Habs didn't get Hossa.

But, I don't understand the Huet trade.
This is pretty much exactly how i feel as well.

I'm starting to believe that people are right when the characterize the majority of Hab fans as ****ing idiots.

This is flat out embarrassing.

maybe we got Jokinen. The Huet trade is brutal, but I can't help but think Shero came in with that ridiculous offer late and screwed Gainey.
