I'd boo Bob for trading away our NUMBER 1 GOALIE for a 2nd.

A COMPLETLY USELESS MOVE that made us worst.

Guess those Hab/Hossa jerseys are going to be quite the collector's item.

Ifor one am glad Bob did not trade 2 front line players, a decent prospect AND and #1 pick for Hossa... Good job Bob, stay the course. Who else has cap room to sign Hoss in the off-season??

Huet for a second rounder though...wow. I can't help but wonder if that would have been a 1st rounder in the 2009 draft if Bob had waited a couple of hours??

yes, Habs are clearly on the wrong path with gainey, what with all the young home-grown talent coming through . . .

Bob had an offer on the table and he got outbid. Would you really want to overpay for a rental at this stage. I'm happy that he tried to make a move to improve the team...it just didn't work out. People can be upset but we still have O'Byrne and Higgins....I'm not sure we would have if he made a deal for Hossa.

As for Huet. We weren't going to win the cup with him. People are upset, but I think it was a good move. This team will do damage in the post season.

Would you be okay with Latendresse, Higgins, Chipchura and a 1st?

It's a huge price to pay. Gainey simply said no. And he was right.
Totally agree. Overpayment for a player that is not likely going to stay in Pitt. People around here are stupid and want a trade for the sake of a trade.

Man no one is happy about the only trade we made today. I wonder how long before Huet is considered Washingtons true #1

If Gainey really offered Ryder + Grabovski + whatever and DW didn't take it, then what a moron.
I think that is the main reason why Gainey sent Huet to Wash, because he was pissed at Waddell, told him he'd fawk his season real good if he backed away.

I still can't believe that we have gotten WORST.

Seriously who could have predicted this?

And to people who say that losing OUR NUMBER ONE GOALIE is not getting worst, then might I suggest getting your face out of Bob Gainey's ass.

Kostitsyn-Plekanec-Kovalev
Higgins-Koivu-2nd round pick 2009

I wonder if they are going to send Grabovski down next, that could complete the day.

You seem to have neglected the fact that he gave away our starting goalie for no discernible reason.

+1

Was the Huet trade had anything to do with the Hossa potential?

The problem was that Bob didn't have other deals in his pockets. I mean get a Antropov, a Prospal, a Havlat. Do not let your club out to dry.

Screw Bob Gainey. Sure he's done more good then bad for this organization, but how could he **** up so majorly today? How did he manage it to do this bad? I'd rather keep Huet and lose him as a UFA then not have him for the last stretch and get a 2nd rounder in 09, that turns out to be Anaheim's on top of that too, which makes it even worse.

Gainey was a better goal scorer than a GM.
