You know, of all of our local news anchors...

...Andrea Cambern really seems to know what the hell she is talking about.

Every night after Jeff Hogan does sports, she usually comments. These aren't simple comments you'd expecdt everyone to know. They are actually rather insightful, even if they are boiled down to one or two sentences.

Here is an example (but doesn't fully show how informed she truly is), tonight Jeff Hogan mentioned tomorrow is the next game day, and the next time we see Shelley. He didn't explain he was with San Jose, so one it is possible one could've assumed he was injured/sick for a period of time. When she gets segwayed back to from Hogan, she says something to the effect of, "yeah, too bad he is wearing the wrong sweater." (Can't remember her exact words.)

This isn't the first time she has made comments that a more-than-bandwagon-Jackets-fan would know. She seems to do it on a regular basis.

Usually, Jerry Revish answers with something stupid.

Just my $.02. Discuss.

Does Andrea Cambern know more about the Blue Jackets than the guys on 1460?

Discuss.

This stays out of the lounge.

Its nice to hear something positive about the media, instead of the typical "1460 Sucks" Thread.

I think, considering how awful the Jackets have been, we shouldn't complain about the coverage. Sure, 1460 sucks, but it isn't any worse then any sports station outside of Canada, Minnesota, Detroit...

I saw WBNS meteorologist Mike Davis make his way into the lower bowl at a MIN/CBJ game in December with a beer & a couple friends. He may not have stuck out as much had he not shown up in the second period.

There's 2 for Channel 10.

She loves the Jackets though, but she makes few games due to an obligation for being a news anchor every night at 11pm. One night she brought Jim Ghanal (sp), he is one of the nicest guys I've ever met; he knows jack about the weather but a nice guy no less..

I once saw Clay Hall at Chipotle's in Grandview.

For what it's worth... It was during football season, though.

I've seen Jeff Hogan from WBNS at several Jackets games, come to think of it.

Not Rims, no way can she call the plays as well as him but if ya want comments? Yep, Colleen knows enough about the game of hockey to give some colorful color and she will call it truthfully, no homerism in Colleen Mitchell. A women who calls it the way she see's it, I like that and i like her!

The more of her the better. Give her a mike & let her do in-game interviews for FSN.

(That link may not work for you. I found it in a Google search but the site requires you to register to view the link, yet viewing a "cached" version gives you the story.)
