Probably, but once again you have to think back to the expectations of this team. This isn't supposed to be a contending year. It's supposed to be a transition year. At this point, there's almost no way we don't get to 50 wins. That's a fun year for a shrug-your-shoulders-and-see-what-happens season.

And I agree with this..just really hate it when I state my opinion and half the board jumps down my throat.

Bobrovsky should have made that stop.

I didnt see that at all...2 pretty good goals...but regardless, lets say you are right, they are soft goals...my point is that you cant count on the opposition to play like crap, give up soft goals, or not finish on glorious scoring chances...the very fact that we gave up soft goals, to go with the scoring chances and the 30+ shots we gave up actually helps MAKE my point.

you cant give up that many shots...and give up crap goals...and expect to win long term in the playoffs.

you can ride hot goaltending, you can get lucky with your own soft goals, you can get lucky with other teams missing wide open nets. but in the playoffs..you arent winning 16 games before losing a series by getting outshot every night and relying almost entirely on odd man rushes to win hockey games. The rangers are built on the breakaway and odd man rushes...take away the long pass, clog up the neutral zone, and forecheck them.

You guys all did the same crap last year and years gone by...ive called it like it is...and have gotten blasted literally every year. When ive said we're playing well despite losing games and everyone crucified me, or when i said were playing like crap despite winning games.

Read this thread:
http://hfboards.hockeysfuture.com/sh...085&highlight=

We've won 6 games in a row, and we've giiven up an average of 36 shots per game in that span.

36

The worst team in the entire effing NHL gives up 2 shots per game FEWER than that (Buffalo).

The difference between the BS we've seen of late, and a great shot supressing team like the Bruins or Kings are 10 shots per game. 10. When youre talking about a .920 sv% for a goal...10 shots a game, over 82 games is an additional 66 goals scored a year. That's a metric ton of extra goals against.

This shots allowed streak we're on is completely unsustainable.

So enjoy fawning about wins, i love them too..i love seeing the team win. But its a complete and utter smokescreen, and if it continues we will come crashing back down to earth, just like we have in years past.
Years past? I agree with you last year but then again we did lose to the Stanley cup champions in 5. If we tanked like the isles we probably beat Florida in 6 or 7 games.
The year before that we get to game 7 of the ecf with two defenseman playing on one leg and another playing with one shoulder. this team has flaws we know that but they definitely are better than last years Ranger team in many facets of the game including the young forwards developing exceptionally well

Eh, I don't know about that. Last year's team was definitely worse overall.

I don't think it's worse, but it doesn't matter a ton one way or the other. We're still harvestin' with ****-baskets.

The PK is much better, 90% of which I attribute to Grabner lol.

Bayley

Yeah she lives in California. She likes the Sharks because she knows better than to root for the Kings or Ducks.

I live in San Jose, I guess she's from around this area, so that would make sense

If I ever see her again, I'll ask for an autograph made out to "Machinehead"

What has made this season so much fun for me is that i had zero expectations going into it.

Not so sure about that. Oue blue line is worse but as a team i think we are better than last season (not by much). Grabner has done wonders for our PK.
