Nurse has a bit more upside but I see them both as #4D.

IMO Zadorov has more upside and is better currently.

I don't think he or Zadorov have the offensive capabilities to be #1 dmen.

Never know. Zadorov was a monster in junior and in the AHL last year as a 20 year old. His AHL production was on par with names like Shattenkirk and Barrie but Zadorov played on a far worse team.

The offense hasn't exactly translated over yet but he's still just 21 and has only started been given respectable minutes and a leash since around Christmas time. He may not have 50-60 point potential but if he can be a regular 35-40 guy with his level of defense and physicality it's tough to put a ceiling on what he can become.

#1 D is definitely far fetched though.

Nurse, but it wouldn't surprise me to see people vote Zadorov since Nurse has been hurt. He'll continue to prove he's better once he gets back

I don't know who I'd take really. It's close.
I thought that Nurse was getting much better as he progressed in his NHL career before he got hurt. But I really like Zadorov, I've been keen on him for a couple or so years now.

this was my post in the last thread for these two.

i think z has closed the gap and has exceeded expectations with ej out at this point, future is a toss up for either but homer in me says Z

How does Zadorov have better offensive potential when Nurse put up better numbers in junior on a much worse team?

Zad is only in the top4 because the Avs have no one else whereas the Oilers actually have depth to play Nurse in the bottom pairing.

IMO they are about the same with Nurse having a higher ceiling.

Zadorov has been pretty good the last while in a tough spot. Shame Nurse got hurt because he was looking special this year. Could have been our 3rd best D which is a pretty tough thing to do

Pretty even. But I threw my boy Nurse a vote because these results are ridiculous so far

Junior careers:
Zadorov:0.56 PPG (Zadorov played 1 season following his NHL draft)
Nurse: 0.61 PPG (Nurse played two seasons following his NHL draft)

AHL Careers:
Zadorov:0.56 PPG
Nurse: 0.23 PPG

NHL Careers:
Zadorov: 0.20PPG
Nurse: 0.16PPG

Nurse's numbers in junior are marginally better than Zadorov at best. Plus Nurse got to played junior until he was 20 years old. Zadorov finished when he was 19. As for Nurse playing on a "much worse team" you're a little off. As a 19/20 year old Nurse was playing on one of the best OHL offensive team's in recent memory. That Greyhounds team scored more goals that season than any of Zadorov's knights teams scored.

Neither look like offensive studs right now, but to say Nurse put up better numbers in junior is incredibly skewed when you consider age. Then to say "on a much worse team" is just a flat out lie.

I put even. I don't see either of them as being first pairing guys, I'd be surprised if one of them is more than a little better than the other.

At this point even i loved Nurse but had a tough year and rebounded really nicely this year. Will continue to get better. Zadorov never knew much about him til recently but becoming a BIG fan of his game. Cant really say at this point so voted even

Zadorov played in junior from 2012-2014. Okay now let's look at numbers

2012-2013
London total 745 points
SSM total 689 points

2013-2014
London total 852 points
SSM total 699 points

London was definitely the better team in those 2 years

so are you trying to claim as per his peers nurse hasn't been able to keep up? scoring more in jr (especially if it is minuscule) doesn't mean one has more offensive potential.

what shows more is Z's numbers were able to translate into the AHL while nurse hasn't been able to duplicate his jr success yet.

If you're looking at a small sample size in 9 season games Nurse has played in the AHL. Then you should also look at the playoffs games. 4 points in 4 games.
