he may not win all though many, mainly because he chooses the wrong people to fight sometimes, but he sure has some balls and can take a punch.
I don't think you can say Cote chooses to fight the wrong people. Cote is our enforcer and like him or not it's his job to fight anybody on the other teams who challenge him. My biggest, biggest problem with Ben eager was that he would run around and then hide from the bigger goons. He reminded me of Tie Domi and I despise that puke.
this isn't even close... cote can take regular shifts and is as good a fighter as boulrice. remember cote pwned peters twice and mcgrattan once this year--i mean absolutely pwned. he has taken the best shots from laraque, brashear, etc and kept coming at 'em.

Tie fought Probert and Brash many times and didn't win many, Eager wasn't close to him in any way shape or form. Tie was a lot of things but he didn't hide from anyone and I think he knew he was overmatched by most Heavyweights. I only despised him because he was a Leaf.

Tie did hide from people, I remember specifically in 2000 during a Flyers/Leafs brawl. Domi ran away from Lacroix and Daniels only to throw punches at a helpless and held down Adam Burt.
Bowl of rice has no use in the Flyers lineup. He's a liability on the ice, and isn't even a better fighter then Cote. Plus, McGratton isn't even playing tonight, we don't need two enforcers.

Saw it...he didn't have a hope in hell with 2 Flyers chasing him down. Any other examples cause we could probably you-tube all kinds of whippings at the hands of legit heavies and even a win or two. Calling Domi a runner is a joke even if he did duck a fight or two. Which heavyweight hasn't turned down a fight or two in their career?

I remember he laid a dirty hit in the playoffs on Scott Neidermayer while Stevens was in the box, then ran as the devils chased him and then he taunts Stevens from the box. He may have taken his beatings and given out some, but He's not the type of player I would want on this team.

Do you think he wouldn't have fought Stevens? The shot on Nieds was brutal and he was going to be facing a suspension and he knew it. All of your examples have Tie being chased by a team or more than one player...he'd fight anybody one on one, despite the fact that he was one of the smallest enforcers in the league and got hammered accordingly. I hated him too but I've seen him fight enough times to be objective. Domi was tough.

I totally disagree. I've seen him in person and for a guy his size he's actually a pretty GOOD skater. Whether he can keep that up at the weight he'll need to be at for an NHL enforcer is a different question.
His biggest issue is his skating. I do not knwo what/who you saw in person.
Boulerice wouldn't have come close to making that pass to Dowd tonight. Neither of them will ever become top enforcers, but Riley can hold his own and play a little bit of hockey to boot. This shouldn't even be a question.
