A few quick words about Kingston and where to eat:

1. The Wok Inn. Its a hole in the wall that seats about 8 people total. Its on Montreal street and its the best thai food in the world. Cheap food too. Excellent stuff.

2. Bubba's Pizza. Classic Montreal style pizza. Just make sure you order the pizza fresh rather than getting 3 hour old slices. The pizza is freakin' amazing. Oh, and if you like poutine they're known for it there too.

3. Lone Star Cafe. Great patio and awesome in the summertime. Margaritas and great fajita's.

Kingston's a great town man.

This guy knows his stuff. The Wok in is amazing. #1, #7 and the pad thai which is somewhere in the teens, I can't remember, are all amazing. Best restaurant in town. It gets bonus points for being two doors down from the only strip club in town, lol.

I don't like the Lone Star much though. The patio is ok, but isn't that spinned off into Margaritaville now?

The Brew Pub has some excellent food and great beer...

Bubbas Poutine is okay at 2:00am after a night of drinking... but Pita Grill just half a block down has better Poutine IMO. Its on princess next to Ale House.

Good Cheap Food at Copper Penny too.

Wow, that place is still around? We used to get our late night snacks on there when I was at Queen's. Only real poutine with cheese curds in town at the time. I left in '94 so it's pretty cool it's still around. At the time last call was at 1am so there was still a lot of night left after bars closed. Good times though...

The one on King street still closes at 1:00am, but the one on Princess (across from Stages) stays open till 3:30am.

My ranks for poutine quality are actually
1) King Street Bubbas
2) Pita Grill
3) Princess Bubbas...

I usually end up at number 2, because number 1 is farther away and is usually closed by the time i leave the bar.

MY youngest is thinking seriously about Queens. I'd rather a list of librairies for her though.

Queens is one of the best Universities in Canada, let alone just Ontario. If she gets accepted.. you'd be stupid to not get her there.

He wants a list of libraries in Kingston, not bars in kingston.

There are probably more libraries and less bars in Kingston than Montreal. Be more worried if she starts thinking about McGill...

The one across from Stages ended up being our most frequent stop of the two since we lived on Queen at the corner of King. I don't remember Pita Grill - must be more recent. Is AJ's Hangar still around too?

there was a stabbing at AJ's hangar.... it closed for a couple months and reopened as Ale House...

This was all before I got there....

Ale House has surpassed Stages as the go to Party Bar now though....

LOL, Hey we had some sick Football teams that won back to back in 97 and 98, and took EOSSA and KASSA for Senior Rugby going undefeated despite one loss to a team from Washington last year.

No. she's a year away, [gr.11] but she's been reading up and checking out what best suits her. The list changes every week, but Queens is always on it. I wouldn't mind, it's just 2 hours and I'd like her in a real university environment. Ultimately it's her decision as frankly, while I can give advice, she'll know what suits her better than I will.

Hit the roof ? I'd trust you implicitly. The females in this clan are tough.
