I think I remember watching the Habs beat/tie the Devils once. I remember Benoit Brunet going in and scoring on a breakaway but it got called back mysteriously. Turned out the whistle was blown but no one heard it because the place was too loud.
Anyone remember that Habs-Devils game during the 1999-00 season where Brunet batted the puck out of mid-air to score the overtime winner?
I believe it was in February of 2000. The game was in Montreal and the score was 3-2.
Habs vs Devils games are HANDS DOWN the most boring games ever. It's hypoglycemic hockey. Our morale is down because we're losing, nothing exciting is happening on both ends, we lose 2-0, waste 2.5 hours of our night.
I'd rather watch Pierre Houde read the newspaper for an hour. Ma parole.
I watch almost all HAbs games, except I rarely watch a Devils/ Habs game. The Devils are not fun to watch and the Habs are dreadful to watch against the Devils.
The last 2 wins vs the Devils and the tie (all three in the 03-04 season) I wasn't watching! The game in March we won, I had this cosom hockey game and I remember hearing the highlights on Sports 30 of the kid (won the contest) commentating the Bouillon goal (or tipped by someone else, don't recall)
The other games in late March I was in Florida for my sister's wedding and we tied in NJ and won in MTL the following night and I got the scored from the ESPN ticker....this is scary!
Which is why I won't watch Thursday's game! (for one I have studying to catch up and because it will be another borefest so won't waste 3 hours...)
Jersey again tonight. Smolinski won it for us last time. He plays well against the Devils from prior history. Hopefully he's in the lineup. Other than that I don't care for Smolinski. Remember this is a home game. Expect the Habs to come out flat..LOL
