Currently Seabrook.

BUT

I think Barker has more upside skill-wise, and he is getting better every game still. He beat down that guy last week for bumping Lalime, so he isn't afraid to be physical either. If you ask this question again in a year or two, Barker might be the answer.

Right now it's Seabrook by quite a margin.

This won't even be close, it's Seabrook by a country mile.

I agree that Barker has a very high upside, but hawk fans will never warm to him IMO. Chicago fans do not like Big and Laid back (look at Daze, who was generally hated in Chicago despite always producing).

What are you talking about?

Daze and Amonte were kings during the late 90's early 00's. They were loved by fans and got alot of extra love since they were the last links to those good mid 90's teams.

You don't get called "Daisy" just because people can't pronounce French names.

Agree --currently Seabrook --but Barker does have more upside...Seabrook has been quite inconsistent this year yet his +/- is now a good +13 because he has benefitted from Duncan Keith (now +23) who has elevated his game to a higher level....I don't know if Seabrook can elevate his own game further or become at least more consistent--I hope so--but he may have hit a wall as far as realling going beyond what he can do now --Seabrook still loses focus at times and some nights shuts off the physical play button,on other nights he is physical and when that happens his play is better and more focused too... as for Barker--he played soft and deetin the headlights till about the last 2 weeks--but has started to play better --more physical and urgent lately...this gives a glimpse of his future upside.. if he can sustain this level then improve as he gets more nHl experience then he could become bettter than Seabrook...we hope..we'll see..

It wasn't a reference to his talent or the way he played, just his demeanor and attitude on the ice.

Seabs. He is a solid #2 d-man. Barks will most likely be a second pairing guy. He has gotten better but he is not as good offensively as once believed. He needs to keep the game simple and play physically. And he can be OK. I also see Keith as a #2-#3 guy. He has awesome athleticism and offensive skill, but he makes mistakes in his own end and is weak in front of the net.

Barkers development curve is very long and slower than others but thats no reason to write him off. Agreed his upside right now is 2nd pairing but hes also only played in 66 NHL games as opposed to 214 for Seabrook and 227 for Keith. Remember Keith didn't start to shine until about 20 games into this season and he probably had the fastest learning curve of all three. Barker has been looking much better the more he plays which is a good sign. Don't want to write off #1 picks so easily.
