Ryder Return?

It looks like he may be coming back.

http://www.qctimes.com/articles/2008...4784602476.txt

"Ryder on track

Defenseman Adam Pardy comes from the same hometown as departed Q-C forward Dan Ryder.

He was looking forward to spending the season with the rookie from Bonavista, Newfoundland.

“I played with him when he was 14 years old,’’ Pardy said.

Ryder left the team for personal reasons after six games, but Pardy said the young center, a third-round 2005 Calgary draft pick, appears to be back on track for a return.

“He’s getting better now,’’ said Pardy, who once dated Ryder’s sister. “There were a lot of personal issues going on there, a lot of things that needed to be taken care of before he could return.’’

Pardy said he is confident Ryder will play again."

Very good news for the Flames. Let's hope he can get it together.

Very Good News Indeed! Hopefully Dan Ryder is doing good now, and getting prepared to return to the Flames' organization. I'm really happy to hear that Dan is getting his life back on track. I'm looking forward to cheering for him in a Flames' uniform in the future, along with fellow Newfoundlander Adam Pardy.

Good news about Dan. As soon as I traded him in my fantasy league there is a positive report

Good for Hab fans as well. Dan Ryder's situation is said to be something that has been affecting his brother Michael's play.

He's had some personal issues that have kept him from playing this season. Hopefully he's moved past those things.

I know its probably relatively hush hush but does anyone actually know what those personal issues might be?

Does it involve family? Drugs? Alcohol? Sickness? Something else?

I don't want to pry but this sort of thing does have an effect on your hockey. Please no speculation if we can help it.

I don't think anyone outside of Ryder's Family, Friends, and some of the Flames organization knows much about Dan's situation. There has been speculation throughout the media/word of mouth, but I'd rather not get into any of that because Ryder, like everyone else, is entitled to his privacy and everyone must respect that. No one wants rumours spread around about themselves. The Flames' organization has been very quiet about the situation, which really tells a lot about the club and its managers/owners. They obviously know what Ryder is dealing with, and respect that he doesn't want it spread through the media. If anyone has info on his situation from a reliable source(family members/friends) please feel free to share, as we are all curious, and I'm sure we're all looking forward to Ryder making a return the the organization as quickly as possible, and are happy to see he is "back on track."

Big Michael Ryder/Habs fan here, but I just wanted to post up and say I'm happy to hear that Daniel is back on track. Knowing the long road that Michael took to get to the NHL and his track record (up until this year),these kids are nothing but hard workers and talented players.

Good luck with Daniel - make sure to groom him into a great player!

Darry Sutter claimed it did not have anything to do with drugs or alcohol. He stated, if it did, he would've been placed in rehab by now. It is a really strange situation. Might be depression or something like that? I hope he gets better.
