An important update and some rules reminders

So, in an attempt to keep things orderly around here, we've decided to introduce a new thread for the discussion of Murray and Bylsma. The point of that thread is to contain discussion of them and their job performances and keep it from overwhelming the forum entirely.

That is not to say that discussion of Murray or Bylsma is forbidden elsewhere, but more general discussions of them should be restricted to the specialized thread.

As a general rule: If you want to talk about how you think that Murray or Bylsma should be fired, it does not belong in any thread except the dedicated discussion thread. If you want to talk about how you think Murray or Bylsma is ruining the team, it does not belong in any other thread. If you want to talk about Murray's trade record and how it reflects upon him as a GM, it does not belong in any other thread. If you want to talk about Bylsma's system and how it reflects upon him as a coach, it does not belong in any other thread.

That said, there are obviously some circumstances in which more generalized discussions of Murray and Bylsma are appropriate. When someone makes a proposal in the Roster Speculation thread, or suggests drafting someone in the Draft thread, discussion of how a proposal or a potential draftee might fit with Murray's history are appropriate. In a GDT, when someone posts the lines for a game, it is appropriate the praise or criticize Bylsma for those lines as you see fit. Our goal here is not to stifle discussion, it is to prevent repetitive and non-productive discussions from overwhelming other threads.

Now, with all that said, a brief reminder on a couple of the rules:
1) Flaming: Do not post any messages that harass, insult (name calling), belittle, threaten or mock other members. Debates are fine, but critique the opinion, not the person. Personal attacks are not permitted. Do not call other posters trolls. Do not use sweeping generalizations and plural pronouns to cloak personal attacks. For example if a poster(s) states that he thinks 'x' is a good idea, replying that "Anyone who supports 'x' is an idiot" is a personal attack. Do not start threads to call out and embarrass other members. We do not permit any forums to be used to demean/insult the fans of other teams. This is viewed as generalized flaming.

2) Trolling: Do not make posts or threads with the sole intent of starting a dispute. Please note that a person disagreeing with your opinion is NOT trolling. Please keep it civil even if you're sure the other person is wrong. When visiting the team forums, please note that these are fan forums for that team and are here mainly for the enjoyment of that team's fans. Do not visit team forums to cheer against nor demean their team. In other words, if you want to cheer for the Habs and criticize the Bruins, do it on the Habs board. And if someone is doing the opposite on the Bruins board, don't start flaming them to defend the honor of your team. Either ignore it or respectfully disagree and move on. Copying posts from one HFBoard forum to another for this purpose is considered trolling/flaming as well. Wishing injury/illness on anyone (players, members, etc.) will be regarded as trolling/offensive in most cases.
