Perhaps Fiala can be an effective playmaker for PAP, with Fisher providing some toughness and possession through FOW's.
His last time up he was with Forsberg and Johansen and their last game together, you could see a lot of chemistry between Forsberg and Fiala. Both knew where each other were and were passing with near perfection. They just couldn't pot a goal in that game.

I like the move.

Odds are someone's going to miss a game or two, or we'll need to bench someone who's in a slump, and PAP will be better than calling up a kid from Milwaukee.

Plus, every playoff run some guy comes out of nowhere to post a stupidly successful run. Maybe we get lucky.

And it's only a 6th rounder. If you told me we were wasting a 6th rounder on a kid from the make a wish foundation, I'd be cool with it.

The irony is I reeeeeeeally wanted to sign him back in 2012 when he was available then he signed with the Avs. I've probably thought about him twice since then.

Ive always loved PA, solid cheap pick up. Dude has some good puck skills should help our PP and depth.

Jan Hlavac trade 2.0: minor asset for a veteran player to add scoring depth. No risk, high potential return. If this works out similar to the Hlavac deal, we did okay.

They could if he wasn't injured. He said he probably won't be ready to go till next week.

Our first line is scoring so I would not mess w/ that line by putting Fiala on it. I would keep Fiala on the second line and just put Parenteau in Smith's place instead and see how that goes. If they are still unable to score after that then I would put Smith instead of Fiala.

I'd be curious to see a Parenteau-Fisher-Neal line

That might be better to get Neal going as he hasn't been able to score lately w/ the line he is on.

I agree, also you would have Wilson-Hook-Smith which will jumpstart Smith in my mind.

Not impressed

That 3rd and 4th line combo just looks terrible, but then again, any line with Fiddler or Smith on it at this point is terribad.

PAP is a RHS who plays RW. I'd use him to push Smith down to the fourth line. Something like:

Forsberg-Johansen-Arvidsson
Wilson-Jarnkrok-Neal
Fiala-Fisher-PAP
Whatever combination of McLeod-Fiddler-Sissons-Watson-Smith-etc.

Most 4th lines aren't great, but I like what Watson can do on the 4th line and Wilson/Jarnkrok aren't terrible either, or maybe I just don't see it, maybe offer more than, their "terrible" to your analysis

I'm not a Wilson or Jarnkrok hater, I see value in Jarnkrok's overall skill level and Wilson is a good playmaker that does a good job on the cycle and with possession.

Watson is a forechecking beast that's above average defensively, he's also a physical player, something we need.

It's pretty sad that we're focusing on our offense lines and production when we have scores 50 goals in the last 13 games. That's almost 4 goals per games. The reason why we're losing is not our offense, it's not our goalies. It's our team defense which has been god awful. Hopefully, Lavy is taking notes.

You're wrong, it IS the goalies for the most part. Watch any other team in the league, they give up just as many high quality scoring chances (in fact, the Preds rank very well in this category, most teams allow more), the difference is, Rinne is bottom five in the league in save percentage on high danger shots. Hell, he's even had trouble with completely routine saves of late. He stinks, period.

Rinne hasn't been good lately, I'll give you that. But you gotta put some weight on our defensive system, which has collapsed massively lately. Those goals haven't all been on Rinne or on Saros. I'm telling you, I believe in this team if they tighten up their defense, until that we're a one and done in the playoffs. We can't start scoring contests with the big boys.

So it's Rinne's fault we've given up 2 breakaways in the last few games? I am not a Rinne supporter by any means, but sometimes his teammates fail him and he isn't 25-27 anymore so it is harder for him to bail out his team when they have complete failures.
