The last regular season game for Raipe is now seen and the fabulous career comes closer and closer to the point of retirement.

Yesterday´s game was full of big feelings for both Helminen and his fans. Almost full house in otherwise unimportant game respected its icon with 10 minutes standing ovation before and after the game.

Raipe is Ilves and Ilves is Raipe. The question is: who is able to step up and fullfil the boots of leadership that are left behind after The Captain is gone?

Probably OT, but that link in the first post is kind of funny. The title is right, but the article is all about Team Greece

Quote:
The members of Team Greece have pulled off one of the most remarkable comebacks in international hockey history. After a nine-year absence from international competition, they?ve made a successful return. Even more notably, the team has fought to preserve a sport that was on the brink on extinction and given it hope for the future.
etc.

The article used to be ok and with no mentions about Greece Hockey... but maybe the explanation is that Raipe is often called a God from Olympos Mountain which is situated in Greece?
