The Rampage televised the game on Fox Sports SW yesterday. It was truly an awful effort. The Monsters were held without a shot in the third until the goal with about 2 minutes left. The shorthanded goal that Anton gave up in the second was really weak, and he knew it. The Rampage announcers said a couple of interesting things, one that the Monsters tend to "play down" to their opponents, and two that it was difficult to tell which of the two teams was fighting for the playoffs by the efforts put out by the two teams. Both points very true.

Craig yet to return after injury in 1st period (sorry for being so late on updates, I've been busy and missed some of the game).

I thought I saw a Tweet indicating Paul Bittner dressed last evening.

Man, it's been tough sledding for Cleveland since they won the Calder Cup. They lose Vogelhuber, Rychel, Chaput, and their head coach in the offseason. They lose Werenski, Anderson, and Sedlak to the NHL. Then they lose Kopisalo and Bjorkstrand to the NHL. Then they lose Heatherington to a trade. Meanwhile, Milano, Zaar, and Tynan don't seem to be doing that much.

I'm very pleased some of our talent has been able to graduate to the NHL, but it's still unfortunate for Cleveland fans.

EDIT: Of course, after I say Milano's not doing much, he gets a goal and an assist.

Such is life in the minor leagues. Columbus Clippers were having another very good season last year. But with the Indians heading to the post-season they called up most of the good Clippers players. Clippers did not win a game in their post season play-offs.

Tis the plight of a minor league team. It is all about the big club, and nothing else matters.

Last season was fantastic for the Monsters, but you knew many of those players were on the cusp of the NHL. That's why you have to enjoy those seasons when they come along.

Some good talent in the pipeline so the Monsters will be good again.

Also, last season the 2-way players stayed in Cleveland for the cup run as the CBJ were well out of the playoffs. This season Bjork, Korps, etc. are staying.

Good come from behind win, though.

The last two periods last night saved the Monsters' season. Dropping four points to a team as bad as Texas would've been too much to overcome.

For Cleveland to be competitive after having their entire roster gutted (Except Craig, Milano, Tynan, and Forsberg) from last season is pretty incredible. Good for them.

Curious....Cleveland has served as a great pipeline this year, providing us with quality contributors - Bjork, Andy, Sedlak, Harrington and Korpi. All are NHL worthy. I don't see the Monsters enough to assess the current roster, but many of you follow more closely and are much better versed.

Is there much left in the pipeline on the current Monster roster? Milano gets a lot of discussion, and we've seen Kukan. Any others who could contribute? Or are our best prospects to simple come from junior and Euro?

Zaar still has NHL potential, but he's been battling injuries this season. He's also more of a complementary player than someone who can make things happen himself.
