He's simply an average to below-average starting goalie whose play is now falling into line with that, and the paper tiger team that rode him to the top of the NHL is now going off the cliff with him.

You didn't expect him to keep that pace, did you? He's a good goalie but not an elite one IMO.

You forgot to mention Cam Talbot

Damn I hate that what have you done for me lately attitude. Price was god in november, then had a slump and the "told-you-so" crowd came roaring. Dubnyk is having a slump and look who's coming ? You need perfect confidence in your abilities to be able to stop 93 % of shots, which is nearly impossible to maintain from games to games, months to months, years after years. At some point, you'll get a few lucky goals against you, try to adapt a little and next thing you know you're not confident anymore.

Bobrovski is god this week, but he's had his rough times in the last few years. Nothing is wrong with Dubnyk. He's having a terrific year.

Yep. And even top goalies could have black moments if teams before them have black moments. Practically everything about a team's performances on ice reflect directly to it's keeper (also mental issues and locker room side aspects), but he is the node who has to handle with this kind things alone e.g. he must be capable to handle also consequences of others black moments/bad periods/losing streaks of the team etc.

People should be extremely careful when throwing unsustainability arguments against NHL-goalies, particularly starters.

Goalies will go through rough patches, give it a rest

Same thing that was wrong with Carey Price earlier.

Nothing, just a cold streak.

He's become one of those goalies than can dominate for stretches, but isn't yet established as a consistent elite #1. Despite his struggles, he's still a top 10 goalie and top 5 this season.
