I'm not a huge Pierre McGuire fan but he picked the Jackets to go deep last season and this season he was telling his listeners the Jackets were a dark horse contender in the pre-season. In November he was claiming the Jackets are "for real." Not long ago he told his Montreal audience that Wennberg is the best player in the NHL that you've never heard of.

Is his opinion also confirmation bias? Or is he right just because I agree?
I love Pierre, but IIRC he's good friends with Jarmo.

meh, who knows he claims to be "good friends" with almost everyone.

I'll give him this, he is one of the hardest working people in his business. He does daily live shows each in Ottawa, Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver. He does his regular NBC sports job which requires he travel almost every day, and he appears on TSN for special shows like Trade Deadline Day, Canada Day (Free Agent Frenzy) etc.

He just sort of creeps me out with his encyclopedic knowledge of useless trivia. When someone mentions a player he will respond with, "He's a good friend, going back to his junior days in Moose Jaw, Bob Ketcham his coach told me he is going to be a special player. We were talking just the other day reminiscing about his time in the 2007 WJCs in Leksand and Cherepanov's electric performance. He's a special, special player and a good friend."

Between Montreal, Ottawa and Boston, I would just love to see one of those teams do an absolute face-plant during the last 3 weeks of the season. Watching one of them (preferably Montreal) do a 2-11-1 or something like that would just be awesome.

And while I'm on the subject.......I got 25 cents that says fans at the center of the universe (COTU) will be terribly disappointed when the sun comes up on Monday April 10. Just a gut feeling.

CBJ working to finalize two-year entry-level contract for 6-foot-5 college UFA F Sam Vigneault of Clarkson, who had 12G and 36P in 39GP.

Apparently the contract will be like Werenski's where he signs a with Cleveland for the rest of this year and his ELC would start next year. Big kid but Ive never heard of him as he plays university hockey, not really sure what to expect

Not sure how applicable the comparison is, but Grant Clitsome was about ~.5 PPG throughout his stay at Clarkson, posting 22P in 39GP in his senior year.

The similarities end at Clarkson. Grant Clitsome was not 6 foot 5 inches.

Potential first round match up on Wednesday and Thursday(Least probable, possibly second round match up should we advance).

I don't think we will win both games as they are back-to-back but I would like to see a very strong effort in both games.

The last thing I want to see is a complete collapse.

Complete collapse could mean a date with Montreal instead of Pittsburgh. Maybe not the worst thing, but definitely not ideal.

An interesting tidbit from this article:

"A 16-game winning streak from Nov. 29 through Jan. 3 put them in first place in the NHL standings. Even when they sagged, going 6-8-1 in their next 15 games, they never lost more than two in row. They remain the only team not to lose three straight this season."

Unsustainable.

Some kind of source would be great.

Nearest I can see so far is that Sedlak is in at LW. No idea who's out.

Bob McGelligot said he was most likely a scratch in his CBJ in 30 podcast since Hartnell wasn't on a line in practice.

Thanks. Interesting that there's nothing else out there about it. I'd be inclined to think it was a maintenance day, but I also expect many players to get at least 1 day off over the rest of the season, so maybe this is the start of that.

Looking for that post outlining how Crosby has done in recent games vs the Jackets. He's like a minus 5? Anyone help me out?
