I think we need to acknowledge that maybe the reason Kap hasn't been signed yet is because he's not very good. Not because of his 'protest'.

A team also has to tailor an entire offense around a free agent signing. No team wants to do something like that.

That too. He's not a QB that you can just plug into most NFL offenses.

No they didn't. Glennon's contract doesn't have anywhere close to that money guaranteed.

i don't think he's very good but i also think his protest is a factor here.

his abilities don't outweigh his protest in the eyes of NFL executives. more negatives than positives.

What I find hilarious is his claim that the time for protest is over.....now that he needs a contract. Get lost Colin.....

I understand he's not good, but for people to say he's a piece of **** etc, is just. I can't think of a word here that's nice.

Fair point. I believe it's had an impact but not a big one. Nowhere near the impact his poor play the past 2 seasons has. That's really what I was trying to say.

It's just that beyond the fact he's a well below average starting QB, he's also got some baggage. I don't think team's are willing to bring him on with the chance of being the starter. So if you're looking for a QB to step in as the backup and nothing more, there are a lot of safer options than Kap. So I guess in that sense then yes, maybe his protest has hurt him. But again I think it's just more so that nobody feels he's a good fit given his skillset and the direction his career has taken the past 2 years.

Yes because the two ties we had this year were so great that we need more of them.

If you want to make OT worse, that's one way to do it.

I was pretty shocked to see he had 16 tds vs. 4 INTS last season
bout 60% completion percentage, bout 11 yards per catch

those aren't numbers from a bad QB [especially one playing for a bad team]...he's getting blackballed IMO

He was the Blake Bortles of this season. Numbers largely inflated by playing in a lot of games where it was a blowout and defenses played prevent/way off the receivers.

His vision, progression through reads, and pocket awareness is still amongst the worst of any QB in the league.

It certainly didn't help.

Good for him using his fame to get people to donate. Mind you this si the same guy who wore socks that showed cops as pigs. And disrespected servicemen by sitting then kneeling for the anthem. And oh wait he wanted things to change -- didn't even vote.

I don't think the Texans need to outbid Denver by that much to get him. Houston is in a weak division with a top defence that was missing arguably the leagues best player, plus their offence has some potential. And he wouldn't be too far from his young family.

Flavour of the month. Should have seen this coming.

He could sign as a backup unless he is being stubborn and only wants to start (wouldn't make sense since he's sat for most of the last two seasons). If EJ Manuel and Geno Smith can get backup jobs, why not him.

He doesn't want to be a backup ,, That is part of problem

He wants to be #1

If he was willing to take a cheap backup contract like an EJ Manuel or Geno Smith with very little guaranteed $$$ and no guarantee to be on NFL roster next year then he would be signed

Both Smith and Manuel are going into situations in which they could conceivably be cut during preseason. Neither job is guarantee of being on NFL roster at this point

Geno Smith 1 yr at 2M to battle Josh Johnson for #2 job behind Eli

With EJ Manuel he basically has landed #2 job because of his past connections to Raiders OC. If not for that connection he would likely still be sitting waiting for a team

it takes two to tango...I'm sure Kaep has had offers that he's turned down this offseason. If he's willing to accept "the right price" I am sure there would be many teams that would sign him.

Denver was willing to give him a shot last year, but Colin thought he was worth more than the Broncos did. Just because the dude wants to play for $14M rather than $10, I certainly don't feel sorry for him.
