Hornqvist

Do you guys think he will make the jump for you team next season? At just 21 years old he leads his Swedish team in goals.

Kinda thought he would have come over this year, but maybe next?

He did come over last year, but was cut at camp and was assigned back to Djurgården.

I think he'll be here next season ... to take over Steve Sullivan's spot in the lineup

That is wrong. He came to camp this season after signing a three-year contract, but it was written into the contract that regardless of the organizations wishes, Hornqvist would play this season in Sweden.

Patric played on a line with Legwand and Erat for the first few days of camp and saw time in the first two exhibition games on that line prior to returning to Sweden as their season had already started.

He will definitely be in North America next season and I suspect that spot on the wing with Legwand and Erat will be his and his alone to lose come training camp.

Welcome to the third line with Bonk and Tootoo Mr. Hornqvist!!!!

At least, that is my expectations.

Dumont - Arnott - Radulov
Erat - Legwand - Sullivan
Tootoo - Bonk - Hornqvist

Those are my expectations for the top 3 lines.

4th line: Some combination of Peverly, Smithson, Fiddler, Hordichuk, Bochenski

Do we still have Hlavac next season? If so, he may slot in on the third line.

I think Hörnqvist will make the team. Maybe he needs to add a few more pounds and work on the speed a little bit more, but the summer is long and I don't think he's that far from where he should be.

I think (not only because I'm a Djurgården fan) that this extra year in the SEL will have done him good. This year the opposing teams checked him much harder, but he adjusted after 20 games or so. He has also developed his defensive game and he's been playing center from time to time.

I'm sure they would have worked something out had they thought that he could be a contributor in the NHL.

I just don't see Sullivan coming back to this team at all ... I honestly believe last season was his last year as a top 6 forward

Your most likely correct. For now, I'm going to imagine him on the second line. If that doesn't work, well, we should have a general idea around the time FA hits.

Correct, there would have been something worked out if BOTH sides thought it was appropriate at that point in his development. However, it is obvious that Patric felt it best to get the extra year of development in Sweden instead of possibily bouncing between Nashville and Milwaukee for a while.

As was mentioned above, I think that the increased checking pressure Hornqvist has faced this season and that fact that he has overcome this adversity to excel once again will really ease his transition to the NHL next season and I have no doubt that he will be given a shot in training camp to win the job on Legwand's wing.

Hörnqvist will leave Djurgården for Nashville, just confirmed on Djurgårdens website:
http://www.difhockey.se/nyhet.php?news=4651

He also says he won't go back to Sweden even if he doesn't make the team, so he'll play in the AHL if he doesn't make the team.

Until Trotz puts hom on a line with Smithson and Fiddler giving him 6-8 minutes a game and then demotes him back to the Ads because he isn't scoring.

Trotz can't **** this kid up ... he played against all the checking lines in the SEL this season and figured it out during the second half of the season
