4 of our remaining games are against the Wings, including 3 at the Joe. Realistically, we may need a split to make the playoffs, which means at least one win at the Joe. This would be a good time to start.

I'm rooting for you guys in OT against my Wings today. I'd rather you guys make it in than Vancouver. Good luck.

He says he tweaked his groin. Not too much of a biggie though, as the refs take away any goals he gets anyways.

And if it's the Ducks, he's not allowed within 10 ft of the crease or it's interference of some kind.

Anyhoo.... is Mason in goal for you guys? What are the lines?

Thanks, and good luck. Hopefully no injuries for the stretch to the playoffs.

Sources tell me that Mason will be in net today. No idea whatsoever on lines due to the injury to Legwand. I suspect we will see the Dumont - Arnott - Radulov line intact and then a lot of shuffling behind them. No idea if we even dress 12 forwards, I suspect we'll go with 11 forwards and 7 defensemen honestly - no sources on that.

2-0 after 1st intermission

Yay I love when we play Detroit you can count on so many pk's.

Ugg Mason has been ok, we gotta try and not tackle people or trip them. But some of them calls were weak sauce

Stay outta the box boys if you can help it lol

4-0 second intermission

Hard to blame Mason on any other than that wraparound goal.

We are getting killed on special teams. And putting Fiddler on the PP didnt work lol

I didn't expect to win, but we can play better than this.

We look like a tired team I guess.

At the beginning of the game I wasnt expecting to win so that I wouldnt be disappointed, but after 2 periods of being dominated Im aggravated.

You know Trotz is desperate when he is putting Fiddler out on the PP.....and the top unit at that.

Our powerplay is one of the worst coached/appearing units I have ever seen!

Heh - Hasek makes a save by throwing his stick, but Erat still buries it. Even though we aren't going to win this game, it is good to get a couple goals here at the end, and to burn Hasek on one of his illegal moves.

Wow - 0 for 3 on breakaways (Arnott, Erat?, and Dumont)....all three of which essentially fired it straight into Hasek's pads. Yet we have managed to score 3 goals with 9 minutes left in the game...

Big goal by Tootoo. I suspect we lose this game, but we can walk away from this game without complete dejection.

sucks that mason only gave up one softie...but we end up losing by one. gutty comeback, though.

anyone else pretty impressed with what they saw from bochenski? i'd like to see what he can do with decent linemates over a period of a couple of games. he's a sleek passer.

Can't expect to play only 5:25 against Detroit and come away with any points...

0-3 on breakaways sealed our fate today.

One bright note to carry into the next three meetings between the teams - we were even playing 5 on 5 hockey today!

Two 5 on 3 goals for Detroit, a 5 on 4, and a 4 on 4. Two PP goals for us and an extra attacker tally. Neither team scored playing 5 on 5!!!

That being said, the key to our next matchup is to eliminate the early mental mistakes that got us in the sin bin. Play 5 on 5 hockey and we can play with Detroit.

Here's to hoping our Detroit native gets good news tomorrow and is able to return to the lineup soon!!!
