Mr.Finnerican. How many god damn threads you must make about toni rajala or teemu pulkkinen? where goes the limit? how long your willing to go like this. regulary, there appears a new and a new thread about these players. and your question is always the same: ''Do you think, will these guys be a superstar potential''. its funny when everybody knows already that these players has superstar potential. keep a brake please. Amen.

Why to start new thread when there is already one in here and one in Finland section which have a lot of material about Rajala:

http://hfboards.com/showthread.php?t...ht=toni+rajala

http://hfboards.com/showthread.php?t=424657

Bit silly to start another and then have to see same things over again than in other thread already has.

Yes. The serie against HPK is 2-2. Ilves lost the first and the second game, but won third and fourth. Rajala has got 3 assists.

Ilves lost to HPK so that's it for Rajala's 07-08 season.
His stats: 5 games 1 + 3 = 4

Next stop: U18 World Championships 12. - 24.4.2008

Toni Rajala

I need some info on Toni Rajala.

Is he really the Finnish Sidney Crosby?

5'10 (THN 2007) or 5'8 (THN 2008)?

In this forum, someone compares him to ALMOST Pavel Bure.

Hahaha no. Rajala is a very skilled forward. I think he plays a Crosby game, but not as talented. He seems alot like Patrick Kane in size and speed, very good stick handling and he is definately smart.

Close to 5'8.

Well, I wrote that and it's probably best that I clarify that. Rajala is really fast and smooth skater and he controls the puck well, so you can imagine that it looks like a Pavel Pure look-a-like is on the ice when he plays in juniors. Of course he's far from the level that Pavel Pure was in Vancouver in his early years and it's likely that Rajala will never be nearly as good player as Pavel Pure was, but Pure is the best comparison that I can think for Rajala with Sami Kapanen.

Pavel Bure skating, Saku Koivu's spirit&spins&stickhandling&vision with Sami Kapanen's ability to fore&backcheck without hitting ability.

First pro contract!

So Rajala has just signed his first procontract with Ilves(2years). Same time Ilves signed two guys who will be in draft this year. Matias Sointu(2y+1y) and Jonas Rask(2y+1y). So could wait Rajala making his debut next year with senior team. Hope he will get some height and mostly some muscle.

Really, Hedman over Tavares? I have heard of Hedman, which is saying something since I do not follow prospects as closely as some, but there seems to be a lot more buzz about Tavares. Also Tavares has, I believe, been breaking many of Gretzky's records in the OHL? How does this Hedman guy compete with that? Not knocking the guy, but curious.

And there should not be two players named Schenn in the top ten of two consecutive drafts. Too confusing!

edit: I hope Rajala can succeed at the NHL level at his size, he sounds like his potential and style could be reminiscent of Paul Kariya who was fantastic in his prime.

But really. If he's 5'10" or 5'11" by draft day and in the 180lb range he's top 5.

Hedman's basically a Pronger clone without the stupid plays. He's around 6'6, and excels in all aspects of the game. I'm sure some team will still take Tavares over him, but that's only because goal scorers are at a premium.

I'm a bit surprised that Finnerican hadn't already posted this...
Rajala started his World Championships with two goals and an assist.
