Iginla Breaks Goal Record... Most Ever By A Flame

Just saw it on the ticker while watching "Relive The Magic."

History for #12.

As your HHOF announcer would say, "Yeah, Baby!"

Yeah, it was nice to see it happen at a home game, where he could get the standing ovation from the fans.

Scoring this goal at home is nice, but personally I am more happy about the fact, that he finally got the record, cause being that close to reaching a milestine sometimes hampers a player.

I really wish I would have been at the game tonight, to see Iginla net his 365th. Unfortunately, work had other plans. Regardless, I'm still glad I was able to see it on TV.

It was great to see how happy he was in his interview during the 1st period intermission, all smiles.

Iginla is one of my favorite player and the Flames are one of my favorite team.
Im a die hard Habs fan , im born in MTL and still live there , but for some reason I always liked the Flames.
Always rooting for them against any other team , specially edmonton.
Good luck to you guys in the playoff.
MTL vs CAL would be awesome in the final

Woohoo, i was there tonight. I don't really get to go to many Flames games (out of town) but i was cheering my heart out in the Ultimate Fanzone. They showed Theo Fleury congratulating Iginla on the Enmax jumbotron, i wonder if that was recorded? Didn't Fleury ask reporters why he had to be there?

Notes: Fleury, who lives in Calgary, was not in attendance at the game. However, the Flames showed a short prerecorded congratulatory message on the jumbotron that concluded with Fleury smiling and saying, "See you at 500."

Someone who was in attendance tonight was Al Coates, who watched the game from the press-box. Must have been cool for him to see the kid he traded for years ago hit this milestone, especially after all the heat he took at the time for making that trade.

Congrats to Iggy. Awesome to finally see him get it and extra special to get it on home ice. So happy he is a flame. Couldn't happen to a better guy.

Iginla leads in alltime nominal number of goals. Alltime goals-per-game statistic is following:

1.-2. Joe Nieuwendyk 0.54
1.-2.Kent Nilsson 0.54
3.Theo Fleury 0.46
4.-5. GaryRoberts 0.44
4.-5. Lanny McDonald 0.44
6.Jarome Iginla 0.43

Note: Just my own computation so there might be some mistake in there.

The package with Fleury was pretaped according to the Flames. I was there when Theo set the record and now Iggy. Unfortunately, they gave Iggy 5 seconds to bask in his moment while Theo got a few minutes and a song. But the crowd more than made up for it with a nice standing o for iggy. Iggy is the best guy ever and my favourite hockey player ever. He deserves it.

Here's to him getting white hot and hitting 50 goals this year - he can get 9 in 13 games. Here's to him playing every game of his career as a Flame, winning a cup in Calgary and retiring as the greatest Flame ever with all the records, accolades and love.

It's a shame that I missed the first. I had already thought Iginla had the record; having been out of the country and getting virtually no NHL news for a couple of weeks.

Iginla deserves it, and 365 will undoubtedly be the first of many more. The guy is a class act and one of the reasons why I find the Flames enjoyable to watch. Passion, excitement and a strong desire / unbelievable willingness to win is what I think of when I see Iginla.

The guy deserves a cup and I hope to god he gets to lift that trophy over his head in the near future. Just won't seem fair if he doesn't get that opportunity.

Congrats, Iginla!
