How has Boyd been doing? I know he just recently started playing for Calgary Is this guy ever going to be a number one or number two centerman in the NHL?
He hasn't seen much action as a centerman so far into the season. Most of the time Keenan has used him as a wing alongside Lombardi.
Nevertheless, he has proven, that he is a regular NHLer. To become a second-line player, he has to contribute offensively more often, but as flamesfan12 and BadNewsBearcat have already mentioned, he may get the chance to prove this next season.
I like Boyd. He's well-rounded, competes hard and has skill while being responsible defensively. He's a little weak on the puck and lacks experience, but other than that he is well on his way into developing into an excellent 3rd line/good 2nd line player. I like his flexibility in playing all 3 forward positions.
