Wow.....are we witnessing another late season melt-down? Why am I not surprised???? I realize this team is not as talented as the past two years, but one can easily label Trotz as one of the main reasons for our inconsistent play of late. He tinkered with the one line that was producing, refuses to utilize Bochenski or any of the younger players in the AHL (need scoring, lets call up....PEVERLY!!!!), and he has failed miserably in getting our powerplay to work.
I will give him credit for us being in the position to make the playoffs, and I do recognize that without the players scoring - you can't win games. Regardless, we falter down the stretch consistently each year, and at some point, you would think Trotz would receive criticism.....
And what's really irritating is the team doesn't bother to show up when get a decent crow in the building.
I wouldn't go that far. 39 shots on goal, with 3 posts that looked like sure goals....Tootoo, Fiddler, Suter, Weber, Arnott all had strong games to name a few.
Speaking of Suter and Weber, they are becoming our no. 1 pairing, with Suter becoming our all around TOI guy. More and more lately he is outplaying Hammer in performance and in TOI. I think Trotz and the coaching staff are finally knocking into his head what he needs to improve on.
how can this team go out and beat teams like dallas and calgary on the road and then turn around and lose at home to the worst team in the NHL(again). i will tell you how, inconsistent play. barring a late-season run like the oilers had a few years back, this team is done and i truely don't think they have it in them to play that consistently over any stretch.
once again all of the hard work during the season is wasted in another march meltdown, same song 4th verse. just this time there was no room for error. put a fork in them.

Full credit to LA, they played a solid road game. Ersberg made some big saves and LA had a few key defensive plays (Johnson on Arnott I believe). They were in the game going into the third and gave themselves a chance to win. They looked like the team trying to make the playoffs, not the Predators.
This time of year, having too many 4th liners will come back to bite you. We do not have the scoring depth or ability to mount solid offensive pressure.
And thanks to the moron who kept yelling in my ear behind me. I'm sure the players heard you say "SHOOT IT" as they skated in the neutral zone and heard you yell "HIT HIM" when they were killing a penalty. And thanks to the guy in the section next to me, yelling out how overpaid Zidlicky is after he just lazered a perfect pass to Nichol in front of the net.
Playoff teams don't lose to last place teams when they have to have a win.
I really thought the Kings outplayed us all night. They were able to cycle down low for hours it seemed like. Yeah we rang a few off the post but still even we grabbed the lead I kept thinking, we are lucky to be winning.
That first goal, well Ellis should have stopped that. And how come they could get people to the net in front of him and we couldn't?
Yeah we had some help, but I am not very optimistic. Phoenix may well pass us.
Nothing that a win in Detroit wouldn't cure though, but I don't see that.
This was my second game as well that I've walked out early on as well ... my first game was the Rangers game last season ... I believe that was the night before Thanksgiving ... I had to drive to Memphis
