Kiss of Death

Apparently, when this video game predicts you as the winner of the Stanley Cup, you crash out early.

Truthfully, I'd be much more likely to blame Peter than the video game curse...

The kiss of death was drawing Chicago, not this video game.

I'm confused on this- is this a new simulation? Because they also did one before the season and it had the exact same outcome- Preds over Habs to win the cup.

So they got the exact same outcome again?? Very weird if so

Certainly sounds like they did it again with the same result.

Based completely on personal observations, in a season mode of any kind, same teams seem to success pretty often first year. Or same players and therefore same teams. Just like certain players reached their potential with very high probability. Every time.

In NHL16 starting with Nashville (or pretty much any decent to great team) and trading for Thornton (cheap for being old and therefore on a trading block) pretty much guaranteed you a good run.

a couple of Gamblers fallacy comments on that..

so they haven't picked the winner, but only once has the team they picked lost in round one, so that optimistic for us knocking out the Hawks, which would make the season a success for me.

and they have only picked 9 times so the fact that they haven't picked the winner isn't that unlikely given that there are 16 entries every year

there's a first time for everything you know.

Of course, I strongly object to this method of prediction.

I much prefer heavily-biased, if not delusional thoughts of grandeur from someone like Brent Peterson.

Wasn't Gronk on the cover of Madden this past year? And they won the Super Bowl....

I know it's not the same thing but still curses can be broken

And he got injured and play no part in that Super Bowl win.

What's sad is that game simulation assumes everyone on all teams playing at their best, and the Predators playing at their best wins it all multiple times. It says they are without a doubt the best team in the league and are underachieving.

The Madden curse is more about the player, not the team. And Gronk did miss most of the season with an injury.

LOL, the random NHL 17 simulation doesn't say anything about the actual Preds. I just did the same simulation 3 times, Preds lost to the Hawks twice, lost in the 3rd round once. This tells me they are without a doubt, not the best team

How hard would Montreal melt if Subban really did hoist the cup on their ice in a Preds sweater?
