When do you think Bob Gainey starts making some headway here. I think there are a few more names, but Gainey was the pre-eminant player in the world during his career. He paved the way for an entire style of play.

Lalonde, Pocket, Roy, Cournoyer, Gainey? Durnan?

This section of the list is getting very challenging.

No way Butch Bouchard should outrank Serge Savard. Nor Bill Durnan over Patrick Roy. Finally, it's criminal to omit Doug Harvey, who migh have been the greatest ever Dman on the Habs.

I know it's difficult to read a whole title because I know, blame me, this one got a lot of words, but you would of saw at the end the #8, which mean this is the 8th poll. Also, after the number, you have a couple of words that say: read the original post. If you would of just start reading the OP (I know again, VERY long and boring, I'm truly sorry), you would of saw a list of players with numbers on their left and also in order! This is what we call a list. There's laos link you can click just beside their name! You click and Internet page pop up everywhere it's a lot of fun!!!

Hope this help, because you would be surprise to know how many posters so far have made those kinds of comments. Perhaps I should put these advice on my original post ... oh forget it! No one read it anyway.

Actually, I forgot about him. While he's not quite as good as Dryden (6 cups to 2) he's actually far more dominant than Roy. 6 Vezinas in 7 years is amazing.

If you're getting close to thinking about Gainey, you have to look at Lemaire. He became an excellent 2 way player and allowed Lafleur and Shutt to free lance.

I guess Dryden because in the time he played, how could he have done more ?

Darz, I love the Pocket Rocket, I've always thought that he represents what you want a hockey player to be. The more I try and compare in this poll though, I see a logjam with Henri,Moore,Lach,Cournoyer and Lemaire, among the forwards.

me too it's incredibly tight.

i would have had harvey up 1 spot other than that this poll is right where i expected it up to now.

awesome post

and I know you were being sarcastic and all, but the OP is definitely not boring; really informative and really well done! Thanks for all the hard work. I haven't voted yet in any of the polls, but that's mainly because its so hard to decide...

lol it's funny how Roy goes to a tie breaker and then we don't hear about him anymore. I guess it's the same people who vote for him every time.

I predicted as much in the tie-breaker thread when someone suggested we just award him the 7th spot and not have a poll...

He's not top 10 IMO.

I actually think we changed some mind in the debate between Plante and Roy, which is great in my opinion, because that's what it's all about. I really like Patrick Roy, but with the incredible Canadiens history, it's difficult to see his place in the top-10.

Dude, I gotta ask. Do you sleep? You are on here whenever I am and I live in Japan for god's sake!

Either way, you do a bang up job, but man, I thought I kept long/odd hours!

I think the long/odd hours was why they picked me for the job....
I am a law student and with the way i study i work weird hours....

I need silence to study, so I'm often on my computer at times when my house is empty or when everyone else is asleep.
