Had to giggle on this one. There is an AP article in the Bradford Era about the banning of cowbells at EIA. I wonder if the incident went national?

to bad they did not catch a few of the knuckle heads that did this and bar them from the arena....throwing stuff on the ice other than hats for a hat trick are frowned on all over the hockey world...never should happen

Agreed. I still have both of my cow bells, and so do the people that came with me. Even with the "Uncensored" group/crowd is disappointed with the bell toss...

Hats on hat tricks, and teddy bears one game a year. That's all that should ever be on the ice.

I have a feeling they will be there throughout the remaining games though. They aren't and wont be doing bag search, and the ushers are "fans" as well and unless something ridiculous happens they won't be taking them from people.

That being said, my thought is that there should be a "bounty" program instituted... If anyone throws anything, reporting them gets you free tickets to the next home game, thrower gets a ban. Would keep idiots from doing stupid crap, and also actively get the crowd into "policing" and maintaining some class... Just a thought.

Epic, agreed. I know that the playoffs bring a "new crowd" of band wagon fans to the arena. No one in our area of section 204 (all season ticket holders) would ever do something like that. Fueled by cheap beer and depleted neuron function, it could happen anywhere. Wait, not in most Canadian arenas. They don't have cheap beer.

Agree, my previous post may have been misinterpreted. Very stupid on the fans part. If that goal was a "no goal" you could have almost guaranteed a power play for London.

My question on the cow bell ban, you have to wonder if the Otters plan on reimbursing the cow bell sponsors? That was a pretty high level of sponsorship, especially for some "Tin from the Orient".

That's because Canadian beer actually has alcohol in it

PP31, they do serve Molsons, Stella, Southern Tier IPA's, and many other in 16 to 24 ounce cups for $6-$7, which is cheaper than I have seen at any hockey venue. One 24 ounce Stella is enough for me.

To be fair....6 or 7 bucks US is like 20 bucks Canadian...so I'd say it's over priced

I was thinking about making the trip up in the event of a Game 6, being the only weekend game in the series at OS.

I'm not sure, do you guys allow cow bells? I got a fever & the only prescription is more cow bell!

On the subject of beer, Erie brewing has some pretty potent stuff & they sell it at EIA.

No, sorry ohlfano. I wish I could. I have been to OS annually for the past 5 seasons. It is a great town, nice fans, and my second favorite team. The arena is really neat. We will be in Erie today and tomorrow.

I like Yuengling.

Well, tonight is the night. The two best teams in the OHL going head-to-head. Sorry NHL, but from an entertainment perspective, you cannot top that.
Erie and OS fans...enjoy the ride!

welcome Owen Sound...!!!

I think you will actually find a completely different fan experience than listed in dozens of posts by one club...I did see an adult fan of that club with his young son that kept coming back to the games-that is " all 4 home games here in Erie"... Of course being a parent myself , like any parent, would make decisions based on the best interests of their child...and they looked as though they were having a good time...

should be a great series, and good threads as well

I love playing Owen Sound. I have big respect for their team and fans. Typically we always have the back-to-back regular season games, and usually we see a fan bus of Owen Sound fans come in. They are energetic, loud and support their team and are a respectful group.

I expect to see them in this series too. To all coming in from OS, welcome!

I think it was a couple clubs fan bases that commented, including the home team

Respect to those calling the throwing of items on the ice wrong and calling it what it was. No place for it. Cheer, dislike the other squads, whatever but at the end of the day its kids playing a game.

Good luck next series. Im sure most that post here arent in the group that was called out. And also offer alot to this board.

I second that & all other positive posts about OS & their fans.

I admit we have some "bad apples" sometimes, most fan bases do.

1 more post & time for a new thread.
