WINNER PIE IS READY!!!

What a great statement game. I'm honestly still in shock a little, but very very pleased. I like this team.

Go Preds!

I was watching the game on my DVR. If you would have told me that Chicago would score 3 goals in the series and win no games, I would have said that you are crazy!

There are no words that adequately encapsulate how I feel right now; so unbelievably proud of this team

I got really lucky and my work schedule (15 hours forward) let me watch all but about half the first period. I'm being ridiculously superstitious this year so I won't say too much, but you guys in the stands did me proud -- I had my phone at half volume and it was enough for a couple of my students at Chikami Junior High to come out and ask me what on Earth was going on.

I made an excuse for them so that they could skip a little bit of class to watch the last few minutes of the game. When I asked them what they thought about the fans, they said 「それのようなものを見たことがないの」, which means "I've never seen anything like it". They were stunned. Over here, the crowd gets together and sing songs melodically in big groups -- the utter chaos of our arena was just mind-blowing to them.

They had all kinds of questions, and the more they realized just how huge this game was (Eighth seed? Against a first seed that's won three championships in a decade? Sweep?), the more excited they got. I wish so badly that I could have recorded it when they started yelling "SWEEP, SWEEP, SWEEP!!!" as they swept up during cleaning time.

Only thing that sucks about sweeping is no Predators hockey for a week! Hope the layoff doesn't hurt the team.

Oh who am I kidding nothing sucks about sweeping the Blackhawks and getting the Red out permanently. No need for ticket restrictions now (but keep them anyways)

With this win, I think Fiala's OT winner just shot up the rankings towards best moment in Preds history

Just watched the video of some of our fans flipping the sledge hammer car over in front of the arena.

They almost mashed a guy against the railing but he was stupid for standing there.

Kids.

Safe to say that the next car will be guarded if we win the second series at home.

Wow. Had a feeling you guys might pull off a series win but to completely own Chicago. That's fantastic. Congrats

I have missed every playoff game so far thanks to work. I'm hoping for a boxset of this series so I can relive every moment in all its gold tinted glory.

Also, who said Pekks was done? Come on, line up to be pelted with rotten vegetables for your lack of faith

A very good outcome & effort, indeed. Glad they get to rest for a little bit, and hopefully don't lose sight of the fact that there is much more work to be done and a long way to go yet. For now though, the moment can be thoroughly enjoyed & celebrated, and deservedly so!

Well guys and gals. That was a hell of a series by your team. Absolute domination from top to bottom. Good luck through the rest of the playoffs. Hope you guys win the Cup. I absolutely don't want the Pens to win it, and I think the Preds are the only team in the West that can compete with them right now.

Ride this wave all the way through and bring that silver chalice to music city.

We'll see ya next year!

Hold yer horses. Pekks played awesome this series of course, but let's not act like he did this all year. So, it's not "lack of faith" but just seeing him the whole year.

Not to take away from Pekka who was great, but I think the defense of Subban and Johansson among others had a lot to do with it, too.

Closing down the GDT, move the rest of the talk to the stickied series thread.
