we didn't on the last tiebreaker at 6..... so we shouldn't here either....

In fact the loser of the last tie-breaker (Patrick Roy) still hasn't been picked...

I think Henri wins #9 though.

Exactly, but I would be surprise this time around if Richard dosen't win.

One hell of a tie breaker.

Thank God. The narrowest of victories, but it was the correct choice.

I don't think Dryden was greater than Henri Richard. Far from it. Dryden was great for a too short period. And he was part of the league's premiere elite team, the 70s-era Montreal Canadiens.

Ken Dryden was incredible from the moment he stepped on the ice.

He had five NHL games to his credit when he went into the playoffs in 1971. He beat one of the best teams ever assembled in Bobby Orr and Phil Esposito's Bruins and took a team that had no business in the finals all the way to the cup and a Conn Smythe trophy.

The following year he wins the calder and wins the Vezina to go along with it and gets another cup in '73. Then he "retires" and the Habs can't win without him and get knocked out in the first round. The guy comes back and wins four straight cups.

He ends his career with a .790 win percentage, five Vezinas, six cups and almost as many shutouts as career losses and a GAA of .224 in only eight seasons. That is absolutely insane. Not even Bill Durnan can match his dominance if we're including cups. And if the Habs were that great and didn't really need him, why couldn't they win without him?

Richard never came close to this kind of dominance. That doesn't mean he wasn't good, but I don't see how anyone can say that Dryden doesn't deserve this one.
