I really like both of them but I voted for Halak. Not that I think he's better (though I think there's a chance he will be), but I usually support the young guys that aren't very popular.

I've got the Perezhogin, Grabovski, and A. Kostitsyn (bought early in the season) jerseys to back that up.

I thought Halak would be the better goaltender 2 years ago. Obviously, some things have changed since then.

Price is bigger, covers more net, plays the puck better, has better rebound control and -most importantly- is unflappable. Plus, he took the ball in Hamilton from Halak and ran with it -all the way to the Calder Cup.

Price doesn't make flashy saves, I like his stature in the net though.

It's because people are finally starting (slowly) to fall in love with Halak.

Price wins, but we win overal, has we have two solid, young goaltenders in our organization!

I see him as a good but not all-star quality goalie somewhere else down the road.....

I see Price as the next great franchise goalie in this league.

I'm not saying anywhere that Price isn't going to be the better goalie. Actually, I've said he's got the advantage and he's the most "sure-thing" option. To me it's like..

Carey Price is Brendan Morrow. You know what you're going to get game in and game out. A big, strong player who knows his position and very few in the league are better. You've always got the effort.

Jaroslav Halak is like Tomas Plekanec. You've got an extremely solid player who wasn't a 1st Round Pick. Your player will be a solid NHL performer for sure because they bring great fundementals.. but you are constantly surprised by what they continue to do, year after year. A bit of a darkhorse that could turn into a monster.

Okay I can see that comparison.... but thats Carey Price's downside.... He will be at least as good a goalie, as Morrow is a winger.... Middle of pack 1st liner vs Middle of the Pack 1st stringer... Thats his absolute downside (barring injury) in my mind.

Price's upside is to be an elite number 1 goalie... A franchise guy.... a guy who could challenge the records held by Patrick Roy (soon to be Marty Brodeur).

Either way, going to the other thread... I don't trade either of them right now.... Our goaltending depth is very deep and if we can't resign Danis, we are gonna need a third stringer next year.... Now Tavares is an exception cause i've seen him live and he's the real deal... will challenge Sid, Ove, Malkin, Big Joe, for the scoring title down the road.
