I wonder if there were just too many guys in the top 2 lines of the 50's team that were considered legends ? Guys get lost in the mix.

I've asked old timers if Geoffrion was unpopular for any reason, and they always shrugged it off.

When I was too young to know what I was seeing, Geoffrion was my first favorite player. How could he not be ? They called him Boom Boom.
It's too bad it wasn't Boom Swish. He clearly missed the net far too often.

Boom swish would refer more to a lifestyle choice wouldn't it ?

One thing I'd give the Boomer is that there may not have been a more entertaining character on the team. That thread about the player we'd most like to have a few cold ones with, Boom Boom would be right up there.

I remember him on the radio a few times with Dickie Moore, and after a few minutes, Moore couldn't speak, as Geoffrion would have him laughing.

Yet it's still 12-7 for the bad guy... er, my boyhood hero. I second McPhee. I don't think y'all are crazy for voting Richard. I think...

No... really.

Roy was great.. but he didn't do THAT much here .. Henri Richard was a life-long Canadien who won 11 Stanley Cups and scored over 1,000 points. He was also awesome in the playoffs.. 129 PTS in 180 GP.

11 Cups in 20 Years is one helluva an accomplishment.

Looks like its going to be Richard. Not a bad choice by any stretch. I guess Boom will probably be next and then its going to get really interesting.

I don't like the Richard pick, either. I didn't vote Roy, but I do have Roy higher than Richard on my list.
