1993 - Montreal and LA...where are they now?

Just watched the final game of the 1993 Cup win for Montreal over LA. Found it interesting watching some of the players and knowing what they are doing now and wondering what others are doing.

Most are retired, but of the players still playing all are defensemen. Here is what I know some are doing, if you know what the ex-player is currentlt doing please add to it.

Montreal Canadiens Roster 1993:

Guy Carbonneau - Head Coach Montreal Canadiens
Mike Keane - Manitoba Moose/AHL

Vincent Damphousse - retired/current status unknown
Brian Bellows - retired/current status unknown
Gary Leeman - retired/current status unknown
Stephan Lebeau - retired/current status unknown
Denis Savard - Head Coach Chicago Blackhawks
Todd Ewen - retired/current status unknown
Kirk Muller - Assistant Coach Montreal Canadiens
John LeClair - retired/current status unknown
Gilbert Dionne - retired/current status unknown
Benoit Brunet - RDS Hockey Analyist
Paul DiPietro - Zug/Swiss Elite League
Oleg Petrov - Zug/Swiss Elite League

Ed Ronan - retired/current status unknown
Mario Roberge - retired/current status unknown

Eric Desjardins - retired/current status unknown
Mathieu Schneider - Anaheim Ducks/NHL
Jean-Jacques Daigneault - Assistant Coach Hartford Wolf Pack/AHL

Lyle Odelein - retired/current status unknown
Patrice Brisebois - Montreal Canadiens/NHL
Donald Dufresne - retired/current status unknown
Sean Hill - Minnesota Wild/NHL
Kevin Haller - retired/current status unknown
Rob Ramage - Prison sentence for DUI and causing death to former NHLer Magnusson

Patrick Roy - Owner, GM and Coach for Quebec Remparts/QMJHL
Andre Racicot - retired/current status unknown

Jacques Demers (Coach) - RDS Analyist
Serge Savard (GM) - Retired/Real Estate Developer

Los Angeles Kings Roster 1993:

Wayne Gretzky - Head Coach Phoenix Coyotes/NHL
Luc Robitaille - President of Business Operations, Los Angeles Kings/NHL

Jari Kurri - retired/current status unknown
Tony Granato - Assistant Coach Colorado Avalanche/NHL
Mike Donnelly - retired/current status unknown
Tomas Sandstrom -retired/current status unknown
Corey Millen - retired/current status unknown
Lonnie Loach - retired/current status unknown
Jimmy Carson - retired/current status unknown
Pat Conacher - retired/current status unknown
Dave Taylor - Dallas Stars Director of Player Personnel/NHL
Warren Rychel - Part Owner, Vice President/GM of Windsor Spitfires/OHL

Gary Shuchuk - retired/current status unknown
Marc Potvin - retired/current status unknown
Jim Thompson - retired/current status unknown

Tim Watters - retired/current status unknown
Darryl Sydor - Pittsburgh Penguins/NHL
Charlie Huddy - Assistant Coach Edmonton Oilers
Alexei Zhitnik - Atlanta Thrashers/NHL

Marty McSorley - retired/current status unknown
Rob Blake - LA Kings/NHL
Mark Hardy - Assistant Coach Chicago Blackhawks/NHL

Kelly Hrudey - CBC Analyist
Robb Stauber - Goalie Coach University of Minnesota/NCAA

Barry Melrose (Coach) - ESPN Analyist
Nick Beverley (GM) - Nashville Predators Scout/NHL

It is funny to look back to see the players that played in that series and to see what they are doing now with hockey still. Many players that have unknown status like Mcsorley, Watters, Dufresne and others have coached in the CHL/NCAA/ECHL/UHL/AHL as well.

John Leclairs status should be that of "Trying to get out of another DUI"

I was lucky enough to see Gilbert Dionne play for Cambridge, he signed my jersey after a game. The last time I saw any info about him was that he is retired for good and living on a farm outside of Kitchener, ON. He's married with kid(s).
