You can tell that we were a much more talented team, but we were outworked and outhustled in the first 2 periods...plain and simple
In the third and in overtime, you could tell the Blues were pretty much playing for the shootout. Besides that one chance in overtime, they basically had the 4 guys back..
Oh well...they should try to re-focus against the Bruins and give more of a consistent effort for 60 minutes.
Terrible game for Smolinski and Brisebois. A team that expects to even win a game in the playoffs can't have crap like those two guys even dressed for a single game.
But...But...But....Brisebois himself said at one point that it's important for a team to have vets like him and Smolinski....
Carbonneau really messed up tonight, its not even funny
i cant stand this guy as a coach, even if we had won the game, he is just not a good NHL coach, what terrible decision making, DURING the game ANd the players he chooses to scratch, smolinski and brisebois over lapierre and obyrne?? YOU DESERVE this loss Carbo
ALSO what the hell did you take higgins off the grabovski line for?!?!!?
I totally agree with you. Another thing that pissed me off was when Grabovski drew the penalty at the end and he never got 1 second of PP time!

After Halak stopped Kariya, I thought I felt a comeback on the way. Then Kovalev came in with the epic fail. Oh well. I still love him.
Habs should have won this but mailed it in for the 1st two periods. So I'm both happy and mad about getting the 1 pt - mad because we should have played better and gotten 2, but happy to get 1 since we were outplayed for 2/3 of the game.
Only other comment - the Blues announcers are hopeless homers.
I thought the Habs played well enough to win, but the penality call on Koivu was a gift from the Ref, should have been 1-0 Habs...then Halak was pretty charitable on the Andrew McDonald goal, was too far in his net, he could have been more agressive on the Eric Johnson goal from far out also. Carbo got burnt by starting Halak twice in a row, when the 2nd goal went in the Habs were coming on and that completely killed the momentum.
I thought they played well defensively, Halak anly needed to play average to win the game.
Grabovsky had a nice goal but he lost the puck with nobody on him like 20 times, Carbo was trying to give him a shot but he's a frustrating player to watch.

Yeah, we all know, Lapierre has better hands than Grabovski..

More grit and tons of speed.
Habs can't contain guys like Mayers, McClement, Backes, Stempniak, Johnson and others. While they're not the most talented, they seemed to take their energy off our guys who can't keep up physically. Then it takes time to get the groove back.
Okay thanks...It is still bad luck. Looks like Frankenstein will be back for Boston against the Habs so it should be atleast 3 or 4 PP chances from his stupid penalties in the 2 games.
How Sergei or Grabovski were not in the shootout is beyond me, i just cant beleive Carbo wouldnt reward the kids with their play tonight
Carbo, you woudlnt even have a point if it werent for Grabs and Sergei, and guess what, you might of had 2 if you would of used them in the SO, you deserve to lose.
Just stop playing Brisebois and things will be better. For whatever the reason...Montreal plays better when Brisebois is a healthy scratch. Love him or hate, Brisebois is useless. Please play O'Byrne vs the Bruins PLease!
