The best part of the whole game was when NESN zoomed in on Julien after the second Kovy goal. The look on his face... I haven't laughed so hard in a long, long time.
Man, tonight was special from the get go with the Canadian's national anthem sang in french (beginning and ending) and with all the Habs fan in the Garden. OLE OLE OLE and NA NA NA HEY HEY GOODBYE chants, Chara being booed on home ice...Kovalev's two highlight of the night goals... Priceless...
Lapierre had an other really solid game. Why does he get swapped with Smolinski all the time?
Not a big Laps fan but he looked good tonight. I'm starting to believe Carbo knows who to play and when. Regardless if its Smoks or Laps....he's doing well.

When does TheDamned get back? That should be fun...He must be on cloud 9 right about now or maybe he is running around Boston in his Kovy jersey with hundreds of Bruins fans chasing him....

Boston's home arena was about half-filled with Canadiens' fans, and they could be heard from the opening faceoff.
Not sure if that's really true, probably some exaggeration ... in any case, Bruins fans should be ashamed of themselves ... and they complain that Habs fans in the Bell Centre are too loud

Nah, Bruins fans are out-numbered ... they are too busy putting paper bags on their heads anyway

To the game: Boston has terrible ice. The 2nd and 3rd period were better but in the 1st, it seemed like the ice wasn't even cleaned. Both teams were looking so sluggish.
Carey didn't look good at first, but he got better as the game continued. First goal was confusing so I won't blame him on it. Second goal shouldn't have even counted.
Claude Julien seems to have one strategy with the Bruins: two guys fire from the point while three others go for junk goals. Same thing every single time. They'll even give up opportunities to wait for the quarterbacks. I fear the day Boston gets a competent coach.
Zdeno Chara is also an embarrassment to the letter C, even to the Bruins. He thinks of himself before his team, and that is not a captain. Even worse, he is going nowhere for the next three years. Chuck Kobasew, just like in Calgary, is Boston's unsung hero.
Kovalev was beyond words tonight. To me, his "play of the game" was hustling back to the net when Boston was going for a 2 on 1. Latendresse played great, hitting and making plays. His pass to Koivu to make the Ryder goal was gorgeous. Sergei played another solid game, same to his brother. Losing Komisarek sounds ugly but the team made up for it by playing great D. Hamrlik proved his worth filling in for Komi. O'Byrne wasn't bad. Kostopolous and Lapierre were unsung heroes. Saku didn't have his best game but at least he stayed out of the box.
Lets take them out on Saturday so I won't have to switch my avatar. Oh, and I now officially win my bet with my buddy Tyler. We bet every season which team will finish with a better record, Montreal or Toronto. He has to buy me free beer *all night*
Am I the only one who think that the 2nd goal from the Bruins was true garbage? Even if (and I don't think so) Thorton hasn't touched Price, he still tried to ram him (what should Price have done? Let himself be checked solidly, risking an injury?).
It was an horrible games for the referries. They have let incredibles violation of rules let by (I remember the holding down of Plekaneks in the 1st period, in the Bruin's territory)

Spot on. Thornton blatantly ran into Price, and Price had to turn away and even slipped in order to avoid getting hit. By the time he turned around, the shot had already been fired and he couldn't really get back into position quickly enough. Horrible game from the refs, but we did win so you won't really hear me complaining.
