I'd expect he gets one more year, like Jack and Cogs did.

Nebraska-Omaha. The game just ended about 15 minutes ago. The Mavs won 2-1 in 3OT. It was a heckuva game too!

For those who haven't heard or read already:

First the bad news...

Matt Rust has a broken leg and Scooter Vaughan has a busted jaw and both are out of the lineup this weekend.

Now for the good news....

Chad Kolarik is expected to play.

That's the first hockey game I've been to where we actually got the wave going. It should actually be 11-1, one goal I swear went through the netting. I just hope they didn't use up all their goals tonight. I want at least 20 tomorrow night, with the whole first line getting hatties. GO BLUE!

Congrats to the Wolverines on the win and nice to see Chad back in the lineup too. But you know, they didn't mop up the ice with the Mavs the way that Harvard did with Quinnipiac tonight. The Crimson gave the Bobcats a good old-fashioned butt-kicking with a final of 11-0. Harvard scored 5 of those goals in the second period and Quinnipiac used all three of their goalies.

Anyway great win by the Wolverines.

...and OBTW, Ferris beat Notre Dame tonight.

2-1 win last night...onto the semifinals!

Miami sweeps Bowling Green while Northern ties the series with Michigan State and Notre Dame does this same with Ferris State.

He got into a fight in the clinching game of last weekend's series against UNO. UNO players were frustrated from having their tails handed to them in an 8-1 drubbing the night before and we taking runs at Kevin Porter (senior captain, Hobey Baker favorite, smaller guy, Max's center) all night. Eventually, Max got sick of it, and threw down. He won the fight, but in NCAA hockey, a fight is not only an auto-ejection, but an automatic 1 game suspension. So he didn't play half of the Saturday game or tonight. In the 1.5 games he did play, he looked very good. Sort of hard to evaluate an individual in an 8-1 game, but he was +5 for the game and kicked in 2 assists.

I'm expecting big things from him tomorrow night in the CCHA title game against Miami. Winner gets the #1 overall seed in the NCAA tournament.

Oh, and in case you didn't hear, Max was named CCHA freshman of the year the other day.

That was a heck of a game last night...

I felt that Miami played a really good game in the first two periods but were unable to score. The Michigan took control in the third.

I did notice a scout from the Phoenix Coyotes at the games last night.

I think they own the rights to Kevin Porter.

Kolarik and Summers are also Coyote draft picks.

And speaking of Pacioretty, he had a beautiful pass to Porter, it was a thing of beauty, but Porter was absolutely robbed by Zatkoff.

Michigan is the number one overall seed for the tourney. They are set up in the Albany bracket and will play Niagra on Friday at 7:30 PM ET. St. Cloud and Clarkson are the other two teams in the regional. Of all the teams, I am most leery of St. Cloud State. I watched them play a few times in person here in MN and they can really ratchet up the defense when they are on their game. LET'S GO BLUE!!!

Hagelin has looked good throughout the year. Has been a very solid contributor and brings a good bit of speed to the lineup. Not T.J. Hensick type speed, but very quick acceleration.

Going to Albany and very excited to see Mich. for the first time (and local Rochester boy Billy Sauer for that matter) Does anybody think there will be a strong contingent all the way to eastern New York? Clarkson will for sure, Niagara might, and St. Cloud not so much. . .

Frozen Four!

Hopefully Miami can take care of BC later today and we can have three CCHA teams there.

Can't wait.

I am really hoping for a Michigan vs. North Dakota final. Hobey hopeful vs. Hobey hopeful. would be killer. hopefully you can get past Notre Dame and us past BC. we need to get past BC, or we will ahve lost to them 3 years in a row in the SFs.

So what does everyone think of the ND game? The Domers have been playing really well of late and will most likely try to keep the game a tight-checking defensive affair. Can Michigan pull it out??? I say YES!!
