1976-77: Lafleur, Shutt, Robinson, Lapointe, Lemaire, P. Mahovlich, Risebrough, Cournoyer, Lambert, Houle

1982-83: Lafleur, Walter, Naslund, Napier, Tremblay, Mondou, Robinson, Shutt, Wickenheiser, Acton
Those team editions were great but the fact that goalies did improve their games alot (technique, training, etc.) over the two last decades. So, this means this year roster is amazing.

Detroit in 05-06 had 8 50 pts scorer : Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Shanahan, Lidstrom, Lang, Holmstrom, Schneider and Williams.

So this is not an all time record but we're not far from 2 years ago red wings edition offensive wise which is excellent

Yes we all do know how skilled Kovy is, but he is a surprise.
His attitude was a disaster in recent years. Not many could have predicted his great production and leadership.

As of tonight, Kosty Sr. needs 2 points and Higgins needs 3 for the Habs to have 7 50 point scorers.

Unreal.

I don't want to jinx them, but they should easily reach those plateaus.

Imagine if the roster stays the same next season, and we acquire a #1 center like Richards. He can boost our wingers' stats. Imagine if he played with Ryder and S. Kostitsyn, two players that did not make too many points this season. We could possibly end up with 10 guys with over 50 points

This 00-01 edition was horrible from start to finish.Montreal also had the record for most players injured that year IIRC.

Ok guys. We might actually have 7! players over 50 points this season!!! Amazing isn't it?

With 7 games left to play

-Alex Kovalev 33 44 77

-Tomas Plekanec 27 37 64

-Sake Koivu 16 39 55

-Andrei Markov 14 40 54

-Mark Streit 12 41 53

-Andrei Kostitsyn 22 26 48

- Chris Higgins 22 25 47

Has this ever happened?

It really is scoring by committee. The only one who appears on the abbreviated lists is Kovalev (well, I supposed Markov and Streit should be added if only Dmen are considered, although Dtreit is more of a Swiss Army knife than a traditional Dman).

31-60: 2nd line
1-30 Superb/Excellent
31-40 Excellent/Good
41-50 Average
51-60 Needs improving

This way:
Plekanec: Average 1st line center
Koivu: Superb/Excellent 2nd line center
Kovalev: Superb/Excellent 1st line R wing
Streit: Average 1st line L wing (well... QB of the 2nd unit of the best PP in the league)
Higgins: Excellent second line LW
A. Kostitsyn: Needs improving 1st line LW, which he is doing. And his P/G ratio has been around 70p/season since Dec 6th. If he would've played all season long with this ratio he'd be #7!!
S. Kostitsyn would be #39 with is P/G ratio if he'd played all the games, which would make him a good 2nd line RW, and he's still improving.

Things are looking bright in terms of scoring by first 2 lines. I'd still wish for a great scorer RW for Higgins-Koivu-line. Sergei's more of playmaker type, although he has a terrific shot. Somebody should tell him to shoot more. Same thing with Ryder.

Most goals per game in the league!

EDIT: Post #100
Like AD and others really like this system alot. And the whole thought process behind making this one up gives some solid back bone to many arguements, that many of us throw around. E.g Koivu being a numero uno first line center, is tough to comprehend so many better ones out there. But as a 2nd line center there clearly aren't many better than him. Once again like this alot...
