Who do you want to face in the Playoffs?

Just out of curiosity, who do you want to face in the first round this year?

I believe that it is possible for the Flames to play any of the teams listed in the poll.

The consensus on the Canucks board is that they either want to face the Flames or Red Wings.

::Edit:: I'm not voting because I'm a Canucks fan and I want to see who Calgary fans would like to face.

I would like to see the first round against a NW Division opponent, so if I'm to choose, it would be either Minnesota or Vancouver. The Flames seem to have the Wild's number (especially at home), so I would like their chances in coming out of that round, and Vancouver because I think both teams would match up fairly even, they hate each other and the last playoff round between these two in 2004 was great and right down to the end. Not to mention, the physical play would be there, which is always a bonus.

I went with the Wild because I think of all the teams there we stand the best chance against them.

The Canucks would be my second choice because I think it would be the most intense one to watch. The joy of winning is we won the series or the crushing feeling if we lost the series would be the most felt in a series between these two.

Minnesota would be my ideal choice. We've played well against them this year and I think we can beat them. Vancouver would be one hell of a series, but it could go either way. Colorado probably the same as the canucks. Could go either way. Don't want to play the Wings, Ducks, Sharks or Stars in the first round.

On paper I really like our chances against the Wild although at the same time, I worry that the Flames would underestimate them.

Vancouver would be interesting since my dad's a Canucks fan and based on history, the series would go to game 7 overtime where the winner ends up in the Stanley Cup Finals.

I think the Flames could win against anyone although Anaheim does worry me the most.

Overall, I'll have to choose Vancouver because it would be extremely sweet to beat them.

I agree I like Vancouver and the wild in the first round.
We seem to out play the wild a awful lot in big games.
Vancouver is cocky when it comes to calgary and they think we are the same team that they beat in the beginning of the season when everyone was beating us. Since then (the fall) we are 1-1 and we look far better them this year the next 3 game will determine if they still can take it to us.

I fear we hit a bout of inconsistancy and that does us in again, but I also think we can make it to the West finals if we play either Vancouver or the Wild.

Canucks, They are a soft team and would be easy prey in a 7 game playoff series.

I think anyone in the Northwest divison would be fine. Would especially like to beat the Canucks in the playoffs though.

Minnesota...I think they are the only team we could beat...our season record against Colorado and Vancouver is terrible, and I fear it would only continue to be that way.

Our record against Colorado is misleading. We outplayed them every game this year.

Who do I want to play in the playoffs? Everyone.

They've all gotta go down eventually if we're gonna hoist the cup.

So the consensus seems to be Minnesota...weird everyone on the Canucks board is scared of them.

If I can remember correctly I think we are 5-1 against them this year. We have played well against them this year and that's why they are the consensus pick.

It's very strange but Minnesota just seems to lose against us. I guess it doesn't hurt that Iginla has his highest ppg against the Wild specifically.

Minny for sure. I'd feel quite comfortable playing them. Anyone in our division, really. Let's avoid teams from Cali or the Wings.

Minnesota, just because the Flames seem to play well against them, but it wouldn't be cakewalk that's for sure....And call me crazy, but I'd take Anaheim second over the other teams....Just because I don't think the Flames match up well against quick teams (like Detroit)....The Flames have the ability to match the physicality of the Ducks and I think it would be a war of a series....

I agree either Canucks or Minnesota would be nice but I did vote for the Canucks. I think we have a fair chance at beating them and if that would be the case, that would just feel so darn good

I don't blame you guys for wanting to face the Wild. The Flames OWN the Wild. As a Wild fan I would like to avoid you and face the Nucks.

Yah not a Flames fan either but there's no doubt that the Flames will take out the Wild with ease.

I think the Flames should play a NW division opponent. But, if you wanna risk the hand...Dallas, Anaheim, San Jose or Detroit is a challenge. Out of those four, I say playing Dallas or Detroit in the first round maybe guarantee an upset.

I think we could take Dallas, but Detroit and the Ducks would clobber us.

Either Minny or Vancouver would be the best options. Minny really haven't given us much to be worried about if we play them. Vancouver because we have outplayed them (I think) in every game this year. It would be an entertaining series. I have no doubt that the Flames would take them in a series but it would be a greulling series.
